  1. Fuck off BVB. I hope we'll sell him to some English club for a ridiculous transfer fee instead Seriously, I don't think we'll let him go before World Cup, and I hope we won't settle for 15 million Euro.
  2. 24h of Nürburgring is coming up this weekend!!! Rain predicted, should be great, can't wait
  3. I stumbled upon it by accident and didn't really have any expectations at all, but was blown away by how good it actually is! Can't wait for Season 2, especially after that cliffhanger
  4. British Superbike? Never watched it, any good?
  5. Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Dovi crash together with only 8 laps remaining...
  6. Red Bull brought their old car and David Coulthard for some promotional demo in Vietnam on Friday. Hopefully, this is a part of marketing for the rumoured Vietnam GP which should bring F1 racing to the streets of Hanoi in two years time
  7. You can be sure the Germans haven't forgotten about the past because they are still being constantly reminded about it. Surely you can understand that most have absolutely no desire to dig deeper anymore and maybe are even annoyed by it because it has been rubbed to their faces for almost a century now? I honestly don't know of any country that has done more to acknowledge and memorialise the mistakes of its past than Germany. Most families harbour some sort of personal history from the war, the majority probably had family members that served as simple conscripted soldiers (no different from any other nation that was involved in war), some surely had family members that were at some point sympathisers or members of the party, much less had family members directly linked to the top tiers of the regime, etc. I think the current 30-40 year olds are the last ones who still know that part of the family history as we had our grandfathers living through that time and our parents born shortly after, so probably heard at least some of the stories growing up. I also think for the majority is simply a fact and not something you would over-analyse anyway.
  8. When you're done watching it all, read this interview: https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-terror-inside-the-making-of-tvs-most-terrifying-new-show (potential spoilers, so avoid it before you're done ) gives a nice look at the story of the monster, among some other things.
  9. Maybe after halo they'll make the car amphibious next
  10. I think it's shite. What are they going to do if there's a crash on the bridge? Push the wreck off?
  11. Both Porsche cars and Ford all pitted during the last safety car, and ever since then, #91 has been extremely off the pace and got overtaken by both Ford (amazing move by Olivier Pla in Eau Rouge) and Porsche #92, and now has just lost the podium to a Ferrari in the final lap too His tires are toast, right front side is completely gone, apparently.
  12. One of the Fords out, another crash at Eau Rouge... Luckily, driver is fine.
  13. Yes, the gaps in yesterday quali were surprisingly big, overall. Ford and Porsche are still pretty close, but I was surprised to see Ferrari so slow though, especially considering they won the whole thing last year; however, it looks like they are struggling with tyre wear, and they also lost some downforce advantage of their new Evo kit due to BoP, so I wouldn't expect them to be in their best form until later in the year. BMW and Aston Martin are most likely struggling with their new cars and are definitely off the pace. The initial BoP definitely has issues, but it's not surprising considering it's the first race of the season, and it will be adjusted as the season progresses. Pretty much none of the WEC races I've watched has been a borefest, haha. There's usually so much racing action on track between all four classes, it's Spa, and it's a 6 hour race, so a single lap pace doesn't really mean that much, there's always a reliability factor as well, and pretty much anything can happen... Also, I've been waiting for the new season for months, so don't piss on my parade now
  14. Are you kidding, the new teen audience has an attention span of a goldfish, they wouldn't manage to focus on something longer than half an hour...
  15. In my defence, those are only 30 minute episodes but yeah, I kind of got carried away there a bit
  16. So I just binged-watched all 10 episodes of Cobra Kai, the series-sequel of the original Karate Kid, and it's great! Didn't really expect it to be, but somehow, it works. Having the same actors from the original movie really makes it really feel like a continuation of the story after 34 years, that was a brilliant idea by the producers. First two episodes are available on youtube, if anyone's interested - pretty sure those who loved Karate Kid back in the 80s will love this, too
  17. Very true, and for me, the most iconic one too...well the whole Spa circuit is... so exciting, dangerous, and so unforgiving. Here's how it looked back in the 60s: How's that for safety, haha. Unbelievable. Racing drivers back then really must have had massive balls of steel.
  18. Well, two broken legs probably means he's a little bit less than OK haha, but yeah, I get your point Could indeed ended much worse... I watched the quali live and somehow didn't think he got hurt, then saw him being stretchered away and put into the ambulance... Hope he has a full and fast recovery. Eau Rouge is brutal if you lose control of your car.
  19. Bad crash for Fittipaldi in quali for 6h of Spa today, his car bottomed out at Eau Rouge and he hit the barriers head-on Both legs broken, apparently...
  20. Fascinating read, thank you for sharing! Not that many spoilers in there, hehe - certainly nothing to make any impact on your further watching experience... Mine didn't have any subtitles, but sometimes I wish it had... I always watch Westworld with subtitles on as it's easy to miss some parts of the dialogue otherwise...
  21. The series is apparently an adaptation of the book by Dan Simmons, that's where the supernatural aspect comes from. But yes, I felt that it wasn't at the center of the story anyway, so can't complain, and as you said, somehow it doesn't even feel too far fetched. Glad you liked it so far!
  22. I was cautious too, mostly because I always loved exploration stories and read a lot about expeditions to find the Northwest Passage and so on, so the fact that it's supposedly a "horror" series (not a fan of horror movies, haha) with some supernatural stuff added to the story kind of put me off, but I'm really glad I watched it. Somewhat random, but The Adventures of Captain Hatteras was my first favourite book I can remember, particularly because of how well it depicted intense atmosphere and fear and terror people experienced in such harsh conditions (it was also based on Franklin's expedition), and this series is the first one to recreate it so well on the screen, it's really great.
  23. The Terror is good, enjoyed it thoroughly, very well done and an interesting story. Been meaning to watch Deep State, too.
