  1. A word on the attendance. 101k. The two biggest clubs by an absolute country mile. Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea are absolute tinpot compared to these two.
  2. Povetkin is a good fighter, past his best now but at least we'll see a fighter who can hurt Joshua.
  3. Manchester United are England's biggest club, for a whole variety of reasons but they always have been. Even in the 70s they were drawing huge crowds, the biggest. They have a pull beyond any other, the Munich disaster pulled the whole country behind them and there is an undeniable romance about them. Liverpool, are the only English club in the same stratosphere as them though, the only club who deserves the title as 'one of the biggest clubs in the world' in England. Liverpool have gone 30 years without a league title, yet they still generate more press attention than Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea...they're just a significantly bigger club. Liverpol have always been a step behind the modern game though, but now they look they're rectifying things a little bit.
  4. Loads of Evertonians out there I hear. Everton have such potential to do big things, really hope this stadium thing works out.
  5. I think it's just the nature of being a huge club, you'll always to be tipped for success. Thompson and Aldridge stand out as absolute gimps though.
  6. Never heard any Liverpool fan say 'it's our year', it's a recycled myth. Would rather Everton do well than Liverpool but a strong Liverpool is good for the city, good to see Liverpool finally punching their weight in the transfer market. Only Manchester United are a bigger club in this country and they are one of the elite clubs in world football.
  7. I'm not sure what the point of this post is, apart from backing up what Liverpool fans are saying. Liverpool are not a sugar daddy club being doped by an oil baron like Chelsea and Manchester City, so there is a difference between how the spending is perceived and rightly so. Of course Klopp will be judged on his signings but they have had to sacrifice to make them.
  8. Well rebel Labour MPS have just saved May in the commons on the customs union, she's like Fergie's united, horrible but gets results out of nowhere.
  9. This past week has seen the Conservative party and our government essentially implode, nobody any the wiser and an opposition unwilling to commit to killing off the government as they're scared of inheriting this clusterfuck. I'm still uncomfortable with idea of a second referendum, it would give the far-right a bone which they could use forever as the mythical 'stab in the back'. It was a terrible decision to hold the referendum but having another one isn't the answer. Aside from the obvious democracy stuff, it's not exactly going to clear anything up, there will be the same stuff repeated, nothing is ever learnt from these things.
  10. In fairness, this is pretty much what England fans have been doing for the past few weeks so it'd be a bit rich if Evertonians got stick for it. Go mad.

    Tennis

Amazing achievement getting there so soon after giving birth, well done Kerber though.
  12. I imagine it's about his confidence, which seemingly hasn't worked given his subsequent errors and also his resale value. They'll be looking to flog him at some point I'd have thought.
  13. Did you tell them Test Cricket is the only real cricket?
  14. He was very good, very direct and a good finisher for a winger. Not sure whether he'll cut at Liverpool but should get a shot.
  15. The German job is the only job I can see Klopp leaving Liverpool, I don't think any club could tempt him away at the moment.
  16. NHS funding is nothing to do with Brexit, it can be properly funded inside or outside of the EU. I would agree with most of what you say but usurping this vote would be a stupid choice and empower the far right further.
  17. The issues about investment in the NHS can be resolved with or without Brexit. A lot of people are voting against neo-liberalism, which is what we will have with Brexit or without under this government. For what it's worth, I think we have to brexit now, to not do so will create a 'stab in the back' narrative for the right-wing to exploit.
  18. Crooked Russian money has long been allowed unfettered access to London, it's high time it stopped.
