  1. To use Teso's level of comebacks........ I said it first I said it first!
  2. I wasnt diminishing it, but by the logic you used to dampen our Spanish win, one could question united's start.
  3. No, he is a good friend of mine for over a decade and one of the most level headed knowledgeable football fans I have had the pleasure of bantering with online during that time. Just has poor taste in which club he nailed his nuts too
  4. So by your logic, we can discount United position in our league as all results up to Liverpool were against bottom half clubs & when faced with a higher club, out comes the Bus and stalemate? Come on mate, you are better than Teso
  5. Yes, and you were all neatly quite after the Atlético game. Season has 6 months plus to go.... keep your over worked Penis in your pants till then floppy.
  6. Poor Jose, he really cant get past his times at Chelsea. I do feel for him. Living in a hotel away from family manager of a club he does not want to be at. You just have to look at him at ANY press conference ~ He is the shadow of the man he once was and just this last week telling all United will be not his last club and he isnt not signing a new 5 year contract. Would that be a come n get me to Paris? His daughter will be finished at University next year and his son already chooses Paris over United to watch. We will see
  7. Well that's a matter of opinion. Those of us who have been waiting for a big centre forward (A big CF who had never scored against us when Cahill picked him up alongside John) playing up against him had their thoughts proved beyond doubt. The two players you mention as playing worse than Christensen had little protection from our wing backs who both failed to do their jobs against the attacking full backs of Roma. One does not want to give any credence to a certain Northern club who did EXACTLY THE SAME to us a few weeks ago, but..... The manager needs to understand his system has been sussed by clubs who have the material to exploit our weaker positions. It's that simple.
  8. Would you be happy to add Christensen to that number of not good enough on last nights evidence?
  9. Someone belittled the possibility of player power in our dressing room again earlier in the thread and used the ridding of Costa out of the club by the manager as a reason for it not to be true. I happen to think there is enough evidence to accept a high majority of the players from last season didnt want Costa to leave and would look upon it as a mistake. Hey! we know for sure there are board members who wanted Costa to stay. You can expect the players will be sitting in the dressing room after last nights game thinking we are weaker as a team and you can be sure them looking around that room and no Costa will have them thinking the manager has made us weaker. When you add Costa to the numerous mistakes Conte has made already this season I think there is more than the odd chance he has the players looking over his shoulder for who is next? Just want to add.... I was at the game last night and while I cant for sure be certain what David Luiz was shouting at the bench\Conte, both during the first half and when he left the field in the second, I felt it was a direct abuse aimed at the manager. Conte looks as unhappy as Jose, living in a Hotel up north at a club he does not want to be at.
  10. Christian Benteke being strongly linked with us this morning. Wow
  11. Only saw Saturdays game on a stop start stream, but from what I could see we were poor again. Now I dont want any brownie points pointing out the return of Zaha needed to be watched, got to say thou, wow, he is a true player these days and is wasted at Palace. There are very few clubs he couldnt shine at. So where does this leave us? Around this time last season we lost back to back games to Arsenal and Liverpool. After those two defeats I placed a very large wager on Chelsea to win the league, doubling up if you like as I had already placed a bet before the season. I was very confident we were the best side and drew a huge amount of money come the end of the season. This time around I have the same confidence in the players, its the manager who I fear. First of all his decision to keep starting Fabregas for me is a major wrong decision. I accept Cesc covers a lot of ground during a game, but he does it slowly and for me, without the ball he is very much a passenger. I have been a fan of Willian for a long time, often defending him against others. I have been told since the loss of his Mother he isnt the same bloke about the place. He sure isnt on the pitch. It was pointed out to me a couple of weeks ago the open words of friendship John Terry sent Willian. People I know at the club have told me he has a problem. If this is true, its another poor decision by the manager to pick him so often. Plenty of other lines I could say but I want to make plain my disgust in seeing Musonda entering the pitch in the second half after his exploits on social media this past week. WTF is that all about? I know the boy is talented, but what message does his playing time at the weekend say to others who believe they should be playing? Again, we must question the managers decision. Morata said to be fit for the CL game, however, I agree with True Blue there must be a question on weather to rush him back. At least Roma have as many injury problems as us. Anyway, the manager came through last season around this time, we can do no more than hope he starts to get things right again.
  12. Palace tends to be a difficult game for us of late, so we must hope the guys return from international duty ready for a battle. I read Zaha believes he is ready to return or at least to play some part. It was the very best I had seen him play against us last season at Stamford Bridge and that performance elevated him to a proper player in my mind. Just want to raise the point here of after the last game being played on a Sat evening when it could have been played on the Sunday, the TV channels decide to play the Utd Liver game early Sat morning after an international break. Crazy decision! Couple that with Sky putting out feelers to play games on Christmas Eve, I think its got to the stage now where the clubs have to take away the TV companies power of which games are moved for their coverage. There should be no Saturday morning games after International break and clubs who play CL on a Wednesday should only play on the following Sunday or Monday. That will do for starters. Id also like to see games like Sunderland v Bournemouth ruled out on Monday nights. Traveling for fans needs to be thought of.
  13. The Day Of The Triffids (1963) Terrible effects very dodgy quality of actual film in much need of restoration, but a very enjoyable 90 mins or so. This is not for you if you have a diet of the 95% crap that the film makers turn out this century & the back end of the last, but if you are a proper film nut... Triffids is a goody.
  14. Why? You are really scrapping the bottom for quotes to back your mob if you have use Pill Popping Ray. He has never got by being sacked by Roman when assistant to Carlo and takes EVERY opportunity to bash the owner n board. These quotes, along with others you failed to post, lack of forwards, the selling of Matic, are Ray's way to have a dig at the board n Owner. You should take more notice of what Simeone said of Chelsea's performance in the week. I know his words will be wasted on you ~ but that's you ~ You cant be educated ~ enjoy your moment and shut up
  15. It's pretty obvious Morata starting the weekend game was a gamble. I have been told he didnt train between the last two games. We can presume with the International break coming up, the manager believed it was a worthwhile gamble as he would have that time to recover. Simon Johnson (Probably the most reliable Chelsea reporter) stated Morata said himself it would be two weeks, hoping to be back for the CP game, however, The Spanish say it will be four weeks. I think we were all educated of the importance he is to us just now, so his injury must be treated exactly the same as Hazards... Slowly so it does not become a regular mishap. ------------------------------------------------ On Alonso: I agree with others that he is fine going forward, however it's defending that lets him down. His lack of pace isnt great, but his dead ball skills are unquestionable. Handy with his head and a good trier. We could do far worse. Like Cicero I am curious to see how Rahman plays as a wingback cause he, like Alonso was below average defender in a four.
  16. Total and utter bollocks, but enjoy while it lasts
  17. So, I am sure I have mentioned before I am a bit of a sad git, watching Chelsea's games a number of times and alas, when we lose I still cant crack the habit. Few things I would like to say. Firstly, This so called wonder tactical full back playing slightly inside causing us all kinds of problems, at least, thats the BULLSHIT Glenn Hoddle had everyone believe during his crap punditry during the game. It was as thou he had never seen Chelsea play against another top side and completely failing to point out City played with their full backs slightly inside at the new maine road last season. We won that game. Hoddle I am afraid needs to do less games as he sounds as tired as a slug making the dash away from the Salt shaker. The team did look tired. Very much suffering from the top midweek game where we played at a very high tempo against one of Europes best sides. When you compare the effort of that night against the weekend game, you can see one hell of a difference. You could tell by the managers words after A/M game how concerned he was and alas, his fears came true. Watching the game again I feel we were comfortable up too our CF leaving the pitch. Who he was replaced with, for me, contributed the most to the outcome of the game. It was the wrong move as we had no out ball from that moment on, which kept the ball returning towards us for pretty much the rest of the game. Mitchy had to be the replacement. This decision, for me, showed the failings of Italian managers who retreat into their shells by becoming defensive. The other decision of note was the starting of Fabregas. No need for me to repeat myself on this... you all know. So what can we say. City dominated the game, yet only scored the one goal. Our defence did pretty well for the most part & but for the wonder goal would probably kept a clean sheet. The loss of Morata was the changing point of the game. They do not have a good defence, but Our manager decided to become defensive allowing the game to drift to City. Dont get fooled by calls of a Masterclass..... We know better
  18. Well that was painful to watch. Will have more to say over the coming days, but for now, there is a drink waiting for me at my fav watering hole. Tired? As close to asleep I have seen, but hats off to City, NEVER has a team been more worthy of three Stamford Bridge points.
  19. I dont mind admitting I have been watching Chelsea in europe since the days of our first European success back in the early 70's. I was at Stamford Bridge the night we set the record aggregate score against Jeunesse Hautcharage, demons of the Luxembourg league and I have Suffered the Tom Henning Ovrebo Stamford Bridge show where he cheated us out of another win against Barcelona. Thing is, last nights performance might just be the very best I have seen our beloved club perform in Europe. 2-1 really does not offer any idea of the dominance we had throughout the game and I could list many of the players who shone brighter then one could have hoped for. Linekar couldnt offer a better example of an British team playing away to a serious club from all the years watching CL football. It was a brilliant performance ~ Much needed. Footnote: I cant help myself.... Morata, runs through on goal in 2nd half, much like Stoke goal..... this time, his running around his left foot costs us.
  20. Yes, Fabregas could play in a line up you describe, however, we need legs in these big games, so I would prefer to introduce him near the end of the game so he can catch up with the ultra intelligent Fernandinho Not a fan of Puyol (I understand he was very good off the field organizing club Christmas parties and the like), who didnt operate in the English league. Mascherano got a career at CH in Spain and he is just slightly taller than the Dog that lives at my local watering hole!
  21. While the game was enjoyable to watch because of the scoreline aided by the very early goal, I dont believe for one moment its time to be swinging our dicks above our heads. I thought our defence was lucky on more than a couple of times when Stoke, with better luck n finishing, would have scored. I did not think Rüdiger had a good game & had to shake my head in disbelief when he chased a Stoke player from midway in our half to way past the Stoke semi circle if the first half. Very poor. Word is Cahill was rested for Weds game. We shall see. Choupo-Moting pushed up on both Rudiger & Dave (Nice words for him from people in this thread.... (id like him a few inches taller before I start lording him as a great) throughout the first half depending which flank Stoke attacked down. This left Christensen free for most of the game in the middle of our 3 with the two outstanding dogs infront of him. I lost count of the number of balls into our box in both halfs we failed to out first. The least said about Alonso in the 2nd half the better. Twat! Our wonderful new CF again stamped his card with a great performance, although.... he again ran around his left foot for his first two goals. I know one should be happy for him, but its a bug bare for me, football players who run around their weaker foot. This weekend he got away with it, there will be games (games where defenders are not carrying fridges) he wont. Excellent result ~ Hughes was right, it did flatter us. How good is that Babayoko?
  22. Had to be done ~ You can only have a Cancer in the dressing room for so long and Diego has outstayed his welcome. This manager has managed to do what the previous manager could not, which in time was a major contributor to him losing his job. While it hasnt been the smoothest 3 months to rid him and allowed the weak minded some wet dreams thinking it will cripple us, from what we have seen, it looks as thou we have come through it.
  23. According to the Daily Mirror (Bound to be wrong) since Jan 2014 we have made £498.50M by selling our unwanted players. I have no idea what the net spend would be over the same period, but would suggest we are pretty good at raising money this way.
