  1. Manta rays inspire new device to filter microplasticsClose Wastewater treatment plants release microplastics into the environment, where they accumulate and pose a threat to wildlife. But by studying the way a manta ray feeds on plankton, scientists in the US have designed a filtration system that captures the tiny fragments without getting clogged.

Everybody has opinions like yourself but I disagree with what you said above that Fury, Josh, Wilder & Usyk would not have stood a chance against the likes of Ali, Holmes, Smoking Joe Frazier and Tyson to name a few, the latter mentioned by me would have eaten them for breakfast and spat out the bones, my opinion only and others may differ,

I think Josh has stagnated now, not as good as he was and maybe it's because he is only fighting twice a year and some of his opponents are just not as good as they were in years gone by. I have said before the last great heavyweight was Lennox Lewis and great heavyweights are not around nowadays, Josh could have been up there with the greats if he had been managed properly, like maybe 3/4 fighta a year but even then the heavyweight division has stagnated nowadays. Ali, Liston, Smoking Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, a young Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis etc, the good old days but not anymore, sad really, once upon a time the Americans ruled the roost with heavyweights they produced, black & beautiful, powerful to watch, I miss those days.

  6. @nudge, get going young lady and find this one with your camera. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Astronomy Picture of the Day 2021 September 26 The Red Square Nebula Image Credit & Copyright: Peter Tuthill (Sydney U.) & James Lloyd (Cornell U.) Explanation: How did a round star create this square nebula? No one is quite sure. The round star, known as MWC 922 and possibly part of a multiple star system, appears at the center of the Red Square Nebula. The featured image combines infrared exposures from the Hale Telescope on Mt. Palomar in California, and the Keck-2 Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. A leading progenitor hypothesis for the square nebula is that the central star or stars somehow expelled cones of gas during a late developmental stage. For MWC 922, these cones happen to incorporate nearly right angles and be visible from the sides. Supporting evidence for the cone hypothesis includes radial spokes in the image that might run along the cone walls. Researchers speculate that the cones viewed from another angle would appear similar to the gigantic rings of supernova 1987A, possibly indicating that a star in MWC 922 might one day itself explode in a similar supernova. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html
  7. You can worry buddy but trust she will do ok living by herself, as I mentioned in here before we left our son down South as an 18 year old in college and we moved back to Scotland, he was ok as we had friends down there plus high school buddies that followed him into college too. A couple of years later he came back home as a long haired git but a lot more of a man if you could call it that and going out for a pint with his old man, there he is today with a son of his own and turned 45 yesterday, how life goes on. Thats him 20 years old and free as the wind and having a drink with his old man.
  8. Our daughter put this photo up on Facebook with this message... "Puddin snuggling up to Kaidens favourite soft toy. Never attacks it, must love the smell of his human bro and Kaiden is OK with it too. Two of them have a beautiful bond "

I think some of the letters/numbers are just worn away but Liz knows where the letters and numbers are off by heart, many a time her mobile has rung or a message come through and she has asked me to check the caller for her if she is elsewhere and my nice reply is " Fuck Off, not touching that in case it disintegrates..." A brand new Nokia key board.
  11. Still brilliant from my whoops, I am trying to match them up via Googlr search but your shots are brilliant, it keeps me looking when you show one and I then see if I can find it, one of my all time favourites is the M2-9: Wings of a Butterfly Nebula, maybe you should try looking for that. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap200913.html
  12. Keep it up, you are going places with this, well done, I also liked the Triangulum Galaxy you took... Astronomy Picture of the day, December 31, 2019 - Triangulum Galaxy... https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap191231.html
  13. @nudge is this the Rosette Nebula you took? If so this is the one on the NASA Astronomy Picture of the day, March 22 this year...
