  1. Anything over 30c when I was in Aussie land gave me acute migraine and even here over 30 does the same, I love the cold weather and give me snow any day.
  2. Looks like any more snow around here will not be happening any time soon, sigh.
  3. Spot on with that one @Stan, I tried the older laptop which is bigger and it worked a treat, realised too that I changed my Virgin Broadband package last week to save out on about £40 a month and I think it had something to do with that, the smaller the plan the fewer options I get, and this laptop is smaller too, oh well.
  4. Nah, it was ok on this laptop a few days ago but suddenly disappeared, I will try the other laptop after that's a larger one than this, also noticed on all the forum menu list the avatar pictures don't show.
  5. I love keeping track of old-time members in here, I can remember you disappearing for a while then suddenly popping in again but maybe you had your hands full helping your wife with the twins, how are they getting on anyway?
  6. @Stan has corrected the size tab @Rab, all there is to do now is correct the colour and positioning the post (ie - left, middle & right tab).
  7. Also @tlr not posted for over a year?
  8. Lucky they never tried robbing big Duncan Ferguson Ferguson acted within reason, say police
  9. Watching a match live is far better than sitting indoors watching it on tv, just keep your fingers crossed it's a lovely hot summers day match, stretch out on a seat or the grass with a hat on and make sure you have a few packs of lager ready and sup away, once you are nearly legless you won't worry about the rules as you will have double vision and see 4 balls instead of 1. To be serious it's a relaxing game to watch, some people say cricket is too boring but it's not, I don't think I would like standing there as a batsman and seeing a hard round ball hurtling towards me at 90 odd miles an hour.

  12. A major step towards creating human-like robotics. Accurately replicating touch in robots can be tricky, but by using a 3D printer, a team of researchers have created an accurate representation of human fingertips in a robot hand. The research was led by Nathan Lepora, a professor of robotics and AI from the University of Bristol. Working with his colleagues, Lepora created a sense of touch in an artificial fingertip. “Our work helps uncover how the complex internal structure of human skin creates our human sense of touch,” said Lepora. "This is an exciting development in the field of soft robotics - being able to 3D-print tactile skin could create robots that are more dexterous or significantly improve the performance of prosthetic hands by giving them an in-built sense of touch.” This was done using a 3D-printed mesh of pin-like papillae (the bumps under your skin that form the ridges of a fingerprint). These artificial papillae are made using advanced 3D printers that can mix both soft and hard materials to create complicated structures. “We found our 3D-printed tactile fingertip can produce artificial nerve signals that look like recordings from real, tactile neurons. Human tactile nerves transmit signals from various nerve endings called mechanoreceptors, which can signal the pressure and shape of a contact.” A study back in 1981 first plotted electrical recordings from the nerves in human fingertips. Lepora and his team of researchers tested their 3D-printed fingertip against the findings of this original study, using the same ridged shapes, and discovered a very close match to the data of a human hand. “For me, the most exciting moment was when we looked at our artificial nerve recordings from the 3D-printed fingertip and they looked like the real recordings from over 40 years ago! Those recordings are very complex with hills and dips over edges and ridges, and we saw the same pattern in our artificial tactile data.” While the research has created a very close resemblance to a human fingertip and the nerves underneath, it was not as sensitive to fine details. The team believes this is because the 3D-printed skin is thicker than human skin. This research could lead to a better replication of human hands. Most specifically, an improved dexterity in robots, able to better grip objects, and understand the shapes that they are touching. Lepora and his team are now looking to the future, aiming to make this new artificial skin as good as, or even better, than human skin. https://www.sciencefocus.com/news/these-robot-fingertips-mimic-the-nerve-signals-of-a-human-hand/

Funny enough the wife had a mild cesarian when delivering our son Darren and when the doc was stitching her up he only noticed I was still sitting there holding the wife's hand, all I saw was his head popping up with his mask on and said to me "erm...I did not know you were still here sir...could you please wait outside until I have finished..."

Must be some issues going on, I have just let @Rab know that the size & colour tabs are missing. You looking in the right place buddy, top right hand corner you should see something like this
  16. @Rab the font colour tab and size tab is missing? Edit: Also the positioning tabs are missing, left, middle, and right.

Look underneath and you will see choose files, click that and it will take you into your computer album Pick a photo you have saved like... Click the photo then it will insert into your post. The other way is just a normal cut & paste job if you don't have a photo in your album and whenever you ask something you should really tag someone that way you will get their attention, I only noticed this post by chance so I will tag you @Sean the ginger 1
  19. A golden oldie western with Johnny Cash & Chris Kristofferson... The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James (1986) 7.5/10 Wouldnt say either was another Clint Eastwood acting-wise as a cowboy but I quite enjoyed this.
