Alvaro Ordiozola - Bayern Munich Loan Deal Agreed

Recommended Posts

Bayern Munich are apparently close to signing Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Ordiozola on loan until the end of the season. The Spanish international is expected to add depth to Bayern's defence and to help solve some of their injury problems.

Yes, Pavard has played at RB for Bayern. But with Bayern having their central defenders Niklas Sule, Lucas Hernandez and Javi Martinez out injured, the idea is to move Pavard into central defence and play Ordiozola at right-back. Pavard is said to prefer playing in central defence as opposed to the right-back position. Bayern's loan move for Ordiozola, doesn't seem to mention an option to buy him at the end of the season, so at this stage it seems like Ordiozola will return to Real Madrid in the summer.

6 Month loan deal with no option to purchase is what Ive heard which makes sense. I know nothing about the lad but having more cover is good. Definitely means Pavard is moving to CB i would think, I still would have prefered Kimmich play RB and maybe thats still what they ultimately do and then have Odriozola as cover and start the odd match.

Hes been playing RB but we have had a crisis of CB for a while now. Hernandez has been out for the better part of 2-3 months? and Süle is out long term. We sold Hummels in the summer so Alaba and Javi have been the starting duo for quite a while with Boateng replacing Javi at times (Javi got injured in December) Its worked out alright but even some of the stronger Bundesliga sides have caused some problems. The best thing to come out of all of this is Alfonso Davies has been filling in for Alaba admirably and way beyond what anyone expected from him so soon, let alone at LB.
