Yes, my #1 reason for hating it. The penalty was wrongly given so I'll give it that for overturning it. I still have problems with Borre's offside. Had no relevance to the play and if it happened before VAR was a thing, nobody would have spotted or complained about it.
Mpache Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Nice try River. I am Boca in Argentina, but I am also a fan of justice and there is nothing any Pro-VAR should be proud of there. It's actually left me in a bad mood.
El Profesor Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 That was a terrible match by Palmeiras. Got really lucky. River completely dominated the match and deserved to advance.

Carnivore Chris Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 River were robbed of that third goal last night but I hope Palmeiras go on to win it now. It'll be interesting to find out who their opponent will be. Santos are an improved side lately but, just like River Plate, you can never rule out Boca. River were nearly in their 4th final in 5 years had they been able to go on and progress last night. That's impressive considering the problems they endured a few years before that when they suffered relegation to the Argentine second division.

I didn't think VAR was wrong on the 2 penalty decisions but the first goal sums up why I despise it. Borre was offside, but it had no relevance to the goal. It's telling that nobody knew it was offside until they showed a very specific replay of something that wasn't even related to the build up. Anyways, I've calmed down a bit now and am willing to watch Boca vs Santos tonight. I wasn't planning on it after yesterday but I reckon it'll be a much better game than the one we got last week.
Mpache Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Santos 1-0. Terrible performance from Boca so far.
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 Fuck me that's a lot of blood
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 When you have football in the morning and water polo in the evening
Mpache Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Miguel Angel Russo got lucky to land the Boca job, I insist.
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 Is it me or does Santos' coach look a bit like a relation of Marcelo Bielsa?
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 2-0! Santos capitalise on the pressure they put on Boca, it falls to Soteldo who cuts in and smashes a shot past the keeper! Quality from him.

Kind of, he's already won this tournament once with Atletico Mineiro, so he's got some expertience here. So has Miguel Angel Russo to be fair.
Mpache Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 So happy Soteldo scored, he can be frustrating at times but his talent is undeniable.
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 3-0! Lucas Braga taps in after some lovely play by Marinho. Surely game over now. Boca have been so underwhelming.

El Profesor Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Marinho was the best player in Brazil in 2020. He and Soteldo are two of the best wingers in brazilian football.
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 Red card! Boca are losing their heads. Frank Fabra stamps on Marinho. Nasty cunt.
Administrator Stan Posted January 13, 2021 Administrator Posted January 13, 2021 Gets worse each time. Even the angle where you can see his face. Far too much aggression there. Dick move.
Mpache Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Love him, he would've been in Europe by now if he had better decision making
