nudge Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 And that's it! No restart, as there's too much damage to the barriers. Race abandoned, half points awarded. Zhou wins his first race, Mazepin P2, Mick P3.

nudge Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 https://formulascout.com/fia-extends-superlicence-points-scoring-period-to-four-years/69266 Changes to superlicence requirements. This potentially opens the door to many drivers, especially when it comes to that Alpha Tauri seat. Tsunoda, Vips, Lawson should all be eligible.
nudge Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Wow, what a shite calendar. 2 month breaks between some races, no Spa, no Austria, a lot of crap circuits. A huge blow for F2.
nudge Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 It's finally back! The penultimate round of the season.
nudge Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Poor quali by Prema... Mick P10, Shwartzman P14. Ilott takes the pole again, Drugovich will start from P2 with Ticktum in P3.
nudge Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Drugovich P1, Ilott P2, Daruvala P3. Mick with yet another flying start, went from P10 to P5 within a few seconds. Finally a decent strategy from Prema too, and his calculated drive meant he just barely missed out on podium and finished 4th. His championship lead is now 12 points only, hopefully will increase again after tomorrow's sprint race...
nudge Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Also what a drive from Tsunoda... From P22 to P6
nudge Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Not a great weekend for Mick, but he kept a cool head, didn't take any risks and got some more points; with Ilott crashing out today it was a decent damage control. 14 point lead, so he still has the advantage before the final weekend of the season, but I expect it to be very close. Ilott is very likely to take another pole next weekend, then the difference between them would be only 10 points. Mick will need a decent qualifying and then a clean race, especially on Saturday.
nudge Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 It's a shame. If he ends up winning this year's championship, he won't be able to do another F2 season either. If he doesn't win, he earlier hinted at not having enough sponsorship to pay for a seat in F2 for one more season, so it really doesn't look good for him...

nudge Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Final, title-deciding round incoming. Standings before the last race(s) of the season:
nudge Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 What a race! Mick finishes 7th after starting 18th, just one position behind Ilott, and also takes the fastest lap, meaning his lead is now 14 points. He'll also start from P2 tomorrow in the sprint race. Tsunoda wins the race after a fantastic battle for the last few laps and ensures 4th position in the championship, regardless of tomorrow's results, meaning that he has enough points for the superlicense. Mazepin actively blocking Drugovich and forcing him into the ad banner looked bad, surely a penalty incoming?
