Hmm, the way he was laying on that stretcher with the oxygen mask just now did not look very calming. :/ Hope he's ok.

He spent 26 seconds in a burning car, add shock to that; oxygen mask is not surprising. Hopefully it's really "just" some minor burns and a few cracked ribs...

A broken rib apparently. But that's a small price to pay for a second birthday.

This looks surreal. Alan van der Merwe was the first one out there, great response from everyone...

Like a CGI scene out of a fucking movie. You can see Grosjean at points in between the barrier desperately getting out. So glad he did. You'd guess adrenaline kicks in to get out and take the action he did.

I just heard Van Der Merwe talk to Sky and he pretty much echoed what everyone probably thinks - the medical car at the back of the grid is there for that precise reason. Ensure the safety of everyone and they're well trained to respond to incidents like that. That training fully paid off. Still insane watching it back. The impact of the collision is mad.

Surely there's a risk of internal injuries with that. Let's hope it's not the case and that the burns and the cracked ribs is all there is.

Brundle reckons broken ribs. Understandable given the deceleration from 53G. Maybe that explains the oxygen mask as with broken ribs there's potential for lungs to get damaged - it's all speculation so shouldn't do too much of that.

Let's hope it's as little damage as possible!

Why don't they just start in positions again on the grid?

All the 'X has to give position to Y' just sounds confusing and seems easier to start normally in the correct positions on the grid xD

They do, it's a standing start.
