Lucas Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 Hard to argue with what's been said (The Departed is my absolute favourite with Leo) but one film I always love that no one's mentioned yet is Gangs of New York. Daniel Day Lewis was a phenomenal lead and it's probably one of the very few occasions Leo has been upstaged (no fault of his own, DDL just had the best role) but his performance was still strong as Amsterdam and made for a solid film. Also, one that splits opinion that I like is The Beach. His character isn't a particularly likeable character but it's very convincing how he portrays a brash, arrogant American traveller.

Wait, Titanic is the only film you know him from?

No, lol, it's just that I don't look for any of his films as I am not a fan of him, but that does not mean I don't like him, I watched Shutter Island to see what it was like as I have read the book and the book was shite but the film was good.

Looked at his films and seen he was in Django Unchained & Critter's 3 and I have watched them but not just because he was in them. I was never a great fan of Nicolas Cage but I have seen other films he acted in besides Face-Off with Travolta and he has made some other good films besides that, maybe if I watched some of his DiCaprio's other films on his acting list I might like them but Titanic only stands out for me as that was the first time I have ever seen him act.

Gangs of New York is a brilliant film, it’s just he’s made that many good films it didn’t make my top few. Brilliant performances from both of them though. DDL and his method acting always go down well on screen.
