Whilst it seems a lot of money on a player whose performed in Portugal it is worth pointing out that if you adjust the cost of historic transfers based on the increase in revenue and inflation adjustments then Chelsea would have spent over £850m+ over the course of five transfer windows. So seeing clubs with title ambitions spending in the region of 80m to 100m to replace an influential figure such as Sadio Mane will feel more like the norm over the next couple of seasons.

It already is the norm.

I meant as in journalists and reporters wouldn't question the fee as opposed to what Man City, Chelsea etc have paid for strikers in the last couple of years.
