Bluebird Hewitt Posted September 22 Posted September 22 No surprises at all. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, considering the transfer embargo last season, but the end of last season coupled with the terrible start we've had, regardless of the opposition, meant he had to go really. Publicly criticising the players and fans to mask his own criticisms and arrogance didn't help. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cvgw152jg2lo Fuck knows which Tan puppet we'll have next. @RandoEFC mentioned that Everton must be the most miserable club to support in the UK. We must be extremely close. 1 Quote

Gunnersaurus Posted September 22 Posted September 22 @Bluebird Hewitt Cardiff fans are generally a lot more patient than most fans aren't they? Do you generally give managers a bit more time than most clubs? I live in Bristol and city tend to be more patient than most clubs. Generally if you get sacked from city you have been given more time than you would get elsewhere and can't really complain. I get the impression it's the same with cardiff Quote

I get the impression it's the same with cardiff It varies, but with Tan's reign, we've chopped and changed far too much, usually because they're cheap options and have to work under Tan and the board, of which some transfers are imposed on managers by the club. Since Tan took over, we've had the following managers: Dave Jones (part) - Did superbly, but could never get us over the finish line Malky Mackay - Got us to the prem, but had a falling out with Tan due to dodgy deals Ole - Shite Russell Slade - Did a job, despite having one hand tied behind his back, but was a cheap option Paul Trollope - Cheap and shite Neil Warnock - Cheap, but one that actually succeeded. Left under a bit if a cloud looking back Neil Harris - Cheap. Started well, then turned shite Mick McCarthy - Cheap and shite Steve Morrison - Internal promotion, so cheap. Started ok, but struggled soon after. Bit of an arrogant prick as well. Mark Hudson - Internal promotion, cheap, shite Sabri Lamouchi - Cheap, but kept us up despite having very little to work with Erol Bulut - Cheap (I believe). Did well first season, but piss poor start now and sheer arrogance meant he had to go Excluding caretakers, that's 12 managers in 14 years or so. Quote
Gunnersaurus Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Someone just told me that part of the reason he got was because he sat down during the Bamba tribute? Is that true? @Bluebird Hewitt If so what a cunt Quote

Lucas Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) Class from us to give Sol the send off he deserved. Embarassing to see the Cardiff bench sat down like that but that's not why the manager would have been sacked. Of the 3 games I've seen us play Cardiff last season and this, they have been appalling. Never really be reknown for good football but what he had them playing was incredibly negative. I won't mince my words, they are an absolute bang average team and the fans are completely disengaged. You only have to see that through the attendances. They dont care. In some ways, its a shame for them they didnt act quicker and got Bellamy when the opportunity was there as I could have seen him being the perfect bloke to unite the club and repair the relationship with the fans. I really don't know who the answer is now. Maybe it might be worth going for Nathan Jones at Charlton who is trying to repair his reputation after that Southampton debacle. Cardiff lad, might just get it. Played decent football with Luton, obviously would come at a cost but chopping and changing managers is never gonna help you progress unless you go for someone with a better fit who the fans can relate to. Asking Tan and the board to think quickly is too much for them. I'm sure Bellamy has said he'd never manage us under Tan as well. As for Jones, a few of us have said similar, but I'll be shocked if we go for a manager we have to pay for. Most likely be someone uninspiring like Rob Page, basically out of work and happy to be a yes man. Quote
