You don't believe in something that has been well proven and documented in numerous cases and they even introduced MRI tests due to age fraud being so rampant in Africa?...

Depends on the case. We have had age cheaters here in Peru, but in the last few African team's case, they all looked like kids. Being African doesn't automatically make them "age cheaters".

Of course not - and it's not exclusive to African countries only, but it's particularly rampant there (and most other developing countries) because of poor record keeping. Like I recall that a few years back over 20 (!) Nigerian players were found to be overage and were banned; that's almost the whole team so it's hardly a coincidence... after shite like that going on for years, it's no wonder people get suspicious.

In this international break

Japan and South Korea both defeated Uruguay, Iran defeated Bolivia. Oman drew with Ecuador. Only the big teams Brazil and Argentina came out winners against Asian sides.

Japan also defeated Colombia in the WC.

Now we will take over European football as a continent Inshallah !

Sven-Goran Eriksson: Ex-England manager named Philippines boss

5 hours ago | Football

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has been named as head coach of the Philippines national team.

Eriksson has signed a six-month deal and will lead the team at their first Asian Cup in January and February, alongside Irishman Scott Cooper.

It is the 70-year-old Swede's first job in management since being sacked by Chinese side Shenzhen in June 2017.

Ex-England captain Terry Butcher quit as Philippines head coach in August before he had taken charge of a match.

"With his reputation, experience and knowledge, there's no question he can help the team reach the next level," Philippines general manager Dan Palami said of Eriksson, who was in charge of England from 2001 to 2006.

He held talks about becoming Cameroon manager in July, and was in charge of the Ivory Coast for three months in 2010, including at the World Cup in South Africa.

"There were a lot of countries and clubs interested in Sven's services, but we were able to sell him the idea of leaving a legacy here in the Philippines." added Palami.

Cooper, who worked with Eriksson at Leicester City, has been in charge of first-team affairs since Butcher's departure.

Before the Asian Cup next year, the Azkals take part in the AFF Championship in November and December.

Al Ahly's Walid Azaro banned after ripping own shirt

Al Ahly's Moroccan striker Walid Azaro will miss the second leg of the African Champions League

Al Ahly striker Walid Azaro has been banned for two matches by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) for breaching its disciplinary code.

Caf did not elaborate on the exact reasons for banning the Moroccan in the statement it released.

However, he was caught on camera ripping his own shirt in Ahly's 3-1 win over Tunisia's Esperance in the first leg of the African Champions League final on 2 November.

The ban means he will miss the second leg of the final on Friday.

The shirt-ripping incident was not the only controversy to involve Azaro during the first leg.

Esperance players were unhappy with the two penalties awarded against them for fouls on Azaro despite the use of video assistant referee technology to confirm both incidents.

Ahly have also been fined US$20,000 for the same incident and the club's coach Patrice Carteron has been "invited to appear before the disciplinary board for a hearing regarding allegations of unsporting behavior".

Gourav Mukhi looked to have made history in the Indian Super League when he became their youngest goal scorer in October at the age of 16.

But the player has now been suspended for six months having been exposed as a fraud after it emerged he is actually 28 and not a teenager as listed on league documents.

The historical goal came when the Jamshedpur FC striker netted a crucial equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Bengaluru FC.

'The AIFF Disciplinary Committee also observed that the existing registration of Gourav Mukhi, both in the Central Registration System (CRS) as well as the Competition Management System (CMS) shall stand canceled and revoked with immediate effect, with liberty upon the player/his appropriate club, to submit original valid appropriate documents for fresh registration under CRS and CMS.'

This is not the first time Mukhi has been caught out for giving out false information over his age.

Back in 2015, he was pulled up in an India U16 National Camp in for being too old to take part.

Sth Korea 0-1 Qatar

2022 World Cup hosts Qatar produced a shock result by knocking out South Korea in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup in Abu Dhabi.

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min played the full 90 minutes for Korea but could not prevent defeat.

Qatar - who will face Argentina in this summer's Copa America - will now play hosts UAE or Australia in the semis.

Son's return will be a boost for Tottenham, who are without the injured Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Spurs play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.

South Korea wasted a host of chances before Abdelaziz Hatim fired in a late winner to send Qatar into the last four for the first time.

Hwang Ui-jo thought he had equalized two minutes later - but he was ruled to be offside by the VAR.

An interesting read about Keisuke Honda's involvement with the Cambodian  football: https://www.theasiangame.net/honda-driving-cambodia-forward/

Good to see he and Dalmas are trying to build a lasting legacy and improve football in the country as well as give opportunities to talented kids. I was skeptical when he was appointed at first but I must say I love the approach now. Bar that loss to Iran, they've also looked much better lately than what I was used to seeing in the past.
