The Championship is by far the best 2nd division in world football, both in terms of quality and marketing. They probably see it as a better chance to showcase their abilities to the rest of europe. The Palace Fan Posted June 22, 2018 Share Posted June 22, 2018 From what Mark Warburton has said, the people in their ivory towers expected promotion last season but we're naive enough to think they could do it with the foundation of academy players they had. Obviously that approached changed in mid-January when Karanka came in and they signed a load of experienced players on deadline day. I presume now they looked at the Wolves model and see it as a quick way to get out the division. Which is a real shame as I was looking forward to seeing the likes of Osborn and Brerton develop.
