Smiley Culture Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 He’s allegedly failed an internal drug test. That would make more sense than him refusing to take a pay cut and that leading to his sacking.

Lucas Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 I reiterate everything I said about Keogh earlier in this thread. Absolute bellend. Derby are well within their rights to do this and get rid, and financially it makes sense. As for the other two, Mel Morris is a businessman. He is not thick. Derby have already pulled a dodgy trick with the stadium deal and he will see those two players as saleable commodities. Derby need the money.

How do you not sack two drunk drivers, but get rid of the passenger

But I doubt it's that black and white behind the scenes mate. As Smiley/Stan alluded to, it could be drug related as that was also rumoured. Also, the club can make money on the two drivers who aren't injured by selling them in January. They can save money getting rid of the passenger who won't be able to play Football for a long time. Keogh wouldn't hold as much of a fee and I think his contract ends soon.

I’ve read a few article suggesting he was offered a lower wage to stay? If that’s true, I’d think he’s got them over a barrel as they’re willing to keep him for 5/10 a week, but morales and conduct codes kick in at 24k? They’ve made a rod for their own back by not fucking all 3 off instantly.

You would like to think a Professional Football Club like Derby has done their research and got their house in order before they start issuing ultimatum's. I would be very surprised if they have stitched themselves up so that could be myth, but either way, the whole palava makes them look a state. Let's ask Rebekah Vardy, she's bound to know

Chelsea sacked Jacob Mellis for letting off a smoke bomb at the training ground but brushed things under the carpet when Ashley Cole fucking shot a teenager with an air rifle and Leicester binned off a load of expendables for a racist gangbang video on holiday but Jamie Vardy shouting “Jap” in a Japanese fella’s face pissed up in a casino, no punishment. I suspect the same has gone on here. Bin off the one with the least value and move on. If they did decide to sell Lawrence and Bennett, unlikely as ones an International and a key player for them, they’ll still make money from them. It’s purely a business move and not a proper or fair punishment.

Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted November 28, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted November 28, 2019 Richard Keogh: Former Derby captain has had his appeal against sacking rejected by the club. Derby has rejected Richard Keogh's appeal against his sacking for gross misconduct, reports BBC Radio Derby. The 33-year-old was dismissed in October over his involvement in a car crash which saw team-mates Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett arrested. Lawrence and Bennett were both fined six weeks' wages by the Rams and pleaded guilty to drink driving. Keogh, who has the Professional Footballers' Association support, can next take his case before the EFL. FULL REPORT
