Well you make your own luck, he does well with those runs from midfield and is always eager to shoot. It's a well deserved lead for Germany.

Yup, he's having a good game so far. Can't wait to read the comments from the more and more emerging right wingers on Facebook. Already read plenty about Emre Can :S

I can only imagine that they were being racist towards Turks when Can got sent off, but now they will have to eat some humble pie after Gundogan scored a brace. You will always get some narrow minded people everywhere, but football has always been a sport that has essentially brought people together and long may that continue.

Well, he and Gündogan liked a post from another Turkish player where they were doing a "military salute" after yesterday's game. Some say it's a political message, those two say it's just to honor the fallen soldiers etc. So yea, some are saying "He's not German" and other less friendly things. Being right-wing minded is becoming a fashion in Germany again.

Can't potentially get more right wing than supporters of Erdogans far-right nationalism eh...

If it's meant as a support to Erdogan, you're right. But Emre Can is known for declining an Erdogan invitation back in the day while Gündogan and Özil accepted and caused a huge shit storm.

Koeman commented on northern Ireland's style. Think it was a cuntish thing to say though as Ireland don't have the players to play good football.

Was more of the style they played yeah, they only had 21% of the ball so was hard to break them down which I guess frustrated Koeman alot but we won in the end and have to deal with the fact teams will play like that at times.

To be honest it's not just him. I get annoyed by managers who criticise teams for doing that.  Football is about results. Sometimes it's not pretty.

Yea but this was a bit extreme considering the results Northern Ireland have had in the past, it was extreme negativity.
