  1. Agree with this whole heartedly but also
  2. Apparently they're still within the 3 year losses permitted
  3. Not surprising that he wants to repay the club, I don't think that was ever going to be in doubt tbh. But it is nice to hear him say it out loud, partly because we want him but also partly because it strengthens our bargaining position be it now or in the Summer.
  4. He was recalled so they could sell? That is brutal. Almost as brutal as us loaning AFC Wimbledon a player who became their best player for half a season, recalled him in the January and then loaned him out to MK Dons…in the same division
  5. Probably but the Daily Mail advertised a podcast of his called Common Sense over Christmas.
  6. I actually think it’s number 2
  7. Having Toney, Dasilva and Damsgaard back now will be a massive boost.
  8. I've been watching the highlights of Arsenal games since the Villa loss and I've gotta say Declan Rice has been at fault, or partially to blame alongside another, for about 5 of the 9 goals conceded in that period
  9. Can’t get me bollock back unfortunately
  10. Calm down lads the word of God is clearly me
  11. I think of Juve a decade ago. Trent is your Pirlo, Szob/Macallister your Marchisio/second striker but you are lacking a Vidal. Not necessarily a defensive midfielder as he was more box to box, but someone that can do the destroyer work and tidy up as well as get forward.
  12. I'm sure I've seen your centre backs drop into a back 3 plenty this season? I know Gomez does get forward, or Tsmiskas or whoever, and it's not necessarily a traditional back three, but doesn't the left back a lot of the time drop in with the two centre backs?
  13. Tbh if you play with a back 3 then you don't play with a #6, so not the worst thing if you're just relying on MacAllister
  14. What clubs do you lot like choosing for career mode? I always like a club you can build a bit of a story around. Athletic Bilbao being an obvious one, but they are tougher than they seem as the squad looks good but then you realise it's technically gifted players with the physicality of pensioner in the freezer section at Iceland. I've got a save with Udinese at the moment which I like, I developed a liking for Udinese about ten years or so ago when they played Arsenal a few times in the Champions League (or qualifiers), back when they had Di Natale. One of the only clubs to pull off a race track stadium. They've recently renovated and I think the stadium looks class, jumped at the chance to start a save with them when I realised the stadium was on Fifa. Last season I had a save with Everton that I'll probably revive, former giant club in the shit and all that. A good challenge to try and beat Liverpool too. Crystal Palace are a good shout too, a club that has dreams of being the Arsenal of South London but ultimately are shit enough to make it a challenge. I've gone through a phase of liking Croatian footballers over the past year or two and so I think I'd like to try and start a Dinamo Zagreb save and see if I can get them to win a European competition but with mostly academy players. In recent years they've produced Modric, Badelj, Corluka, Gvardiol, Halilovic, Kovacic, Kramaric, Kranjcar, Lovren, and Vrsaljko. Surely has to be up there as a top ten European football academy?
  15. David Ornstein saying we have valued him at £100m for January, Miguel Delaney saying we will do a deal at a minimum of £80m. The reality of the situation here is that Arsenal do need a striker if they are to win the league, Ivan Toney can score 20+goals in a season whilst also bringing other players into the fold and even though we only have him left on a years deal, right now, we seem to have the upper hand in negotiations. I don't think we'll sell him now though, I'm not sure Arsenal have the finances to put a deal through, if we sell him it depends on how desperate Chelsea are to buy him as that might trigger Arsenal into action. United too but let's be honest they don't have the wiggle room with FFP the same as Arsenal. If we sell in the Summer I think it'll be somewhere between £60m-£80m and really we do not need £60m right now, not when we can keep him and try to push for Europe.
  16. Hope things get better for and your family Stan!
  17. Our injury list right now.... 7 of those players below are guaranteed starters in our eleven, the other 5 would make regular appearances either from the bench or would rotate in the starting line-up....January will not be a pretty month for us. Mbeumo - 3 months Toney - 3 weeks Schade - 1 month minimum, probably longer Wissa - 1 month, AFCON Ghoddos - 1 month, Asian Cup Onyeka - 1 month, AFCON Jensen - Could just be the next game, could be longer... Dasilva - Who knows, been out for ages... Henry - Whole season Hickey - 1 month minimum, probably longer Ajer - Who knows, comes back and then gets injured again Mee - 1 game suspension
  18. Acclimatised to the new game and feel a lot better with the dribbling etc. Two issues though, first is that the goalkeeper doesn’t seem to make any saves at all. Most shots go in. Second issue is that the player changing mechanism is awful, you’ll go to get a player near the ball to make a tackle and it’ll change to someone near the back post.
  19. Curb is great, really underrated compared to rubbish like Friends and The Office US
  20. It’s a classic role! Lots of classic roles going around too! https://www.indy100.com/tiktok/nativity-fail-door-school-kid

    Boxing

Yeah it’s the type of card boxing needs tbh. Apparently AJ and Wilder are signing a two fight deal, should make for an interesting 2024 with Fury/Usyk coming up too!

Had a pretty good weekend personally. Put a dent in one car, tampered with another and broke someone's washing machine.
  24. Yeah I’m not arguing against the idea that they’ve not looked as assertive as in previous seasons. Personally I believe the reason they don’t dominate teams domestically in the way they used to is because they don’t have David Silva anymore. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that since he left, they’ve not looked like that 100+ point type of team. What I would say this season is that they started most of it without Grealish, Stones and De Bruyne which is like removing Salah, Trent and Van Dijk from your team and wondering why your standards aren’t so high. Then what you have is a period where players slowly start to come back but you’re not going to get back to those levels straight away. The game against Villa was a bit of an anomaly too as their first eleven was so depleted. I like Doku but he was never really meant to start this many games so soon. I think the biggest issue is no Gundogan and I think it’s a bit simplistic to assume that they replace him through Nunes or whoever it is they bring in. Ultimately Gundogan was a threat because of his mentality, not his position. I imagine at this point Pep has turned to Foden, Grealish and Haaland and said someone needs to step up and provide those crunch moments. We’ll have to wait and see who ends up doing that, but I don’t think the replacement for Gundogan is from the transfer market. I think the way Pep has brought players in, Kovacic and Nunes especially, theyre there to be creative more than they are match winners. One thing I definitely agree with you on is no one knows how this will turn out, I do think City have the capability to turn it on and walk the league but with that said, this season has to be the hardest season for them do that being post-treble, high turnover of squad, bigger inclusion of youth players, injuries to key players and a significant change in playing style.
