This has summed up a lot of the points we've dropped, and for quite a few of them it's not even been close, just a mistake here or there that sends the game in the wrong direction, games we've generally dominated. The results recently have been good though, with wins over West Ham, Chelsea and Burnley. The next two games are massive and then we are out of the woods a little bit. -

@Dr. Gonzo Saman with goal of the month! https://x.com/budfootball/status/1722962341594026330?s=20 -
Yeah the long-term injuries I get, no one is happy about that. Do you not think some players, playing under Ange, might have a bit of a resurgence? A Neal Maupay type, who can seemingly do the business under one manager/set up only?
-
Is there not apart of you thats excited to see how he handles it? Who’s position gets changed, what youngsters he brings in? I think it’d be naive to assume you were going to finish top 6 based on having a fully fit squad all season (though still very possible that you do finish top 6). You must have some academy gems ready to step up for a bit? Mikey Moore?

Referees/VAR in the Premier League
Danny replied to Happy Blue's topic in Premier League - English Football Forum
Haha penalty, what am I going on about. Meant foul. I dont think you can say the ball is out, I think its close enough to the line that its impossible to make that call unless youre close enough to it. The arms are on him, but I think VAR clears up the fact that Gabriel drops to the floor cos hes trying to get under the ball, not cos he was pushed. It is crazy how much drama this has created lol, Arsenal got themselves hyped off of the back of Liverpool’s statement and have made themselves look silly now. -

Having only seen a still of the Gabriel issue it looked like a stonewall pen, but actually watching the footage Neville makes a valid point in that the reason Gabriel goes down is not because hes being pushed, but because he leans down to head the ball. Once he misses it he makes a meal of it and drops to the floor. Crazy Arsenal went through all of that for a decision that the refs got spot on. -
In one day Braverman has started a war on homeless people and created lies that the Palestine protests are going to be violent, unpatriotic and a danger to remembrance day. That is an impressive level of cuntery. Hopefully the police don’t stop lawful protests as they did during the coronation and that the protesters arent set on by the far right who are also gearing up for some classic racism.

Hello Ly-Chester-City fans. You appear to be doing well in the Championship. Assuming you were to get promoted this season, how would you like your current squad to look next season? Players you want gone? Must keeps? Players who might be ready to step up a level? What would the squad look like and do you think you’d have the capacity to eventually get back to top 6?

It was still an exhibition though, lets be real no one other than Ngannou, not even Tyson Fury, treated it like anything else. But I do agree with the rest, too much stat padding at heavyweight, they just need to fight each other and make a good couple years of it. Fury, Joshua, Usyk, Wilder, Whyte and any other new comers. Time is running out and they shouldn’t be getting outdone by fighters at middle, welter and lightweights
-
It was an exhibition and Fury treated it as such. I think in a proper fight, 12 rounds, belts on the line Ngannou doesn’t get close on points
-
Yeah I think Ngannou fought well but Fury made him look a lot better than he is, I think in an actual competitive fight Fury, Joshua, Usyk, Whyte, whoever, takes real advantage of a) his lack of boxing/point scoring in the ring and b) his chin that he left wide open all night.
-
Feel for Ngannou, he took the fight close. Highlights how close you can get to Fury, especially with counter punching. I still think a Joshua fight is a lot closer than people think.

The irony in their claims of anti-semitism is that they are extremely Islamophobic in nature too, their arguments link Palestinians to ISIS and whoever else. There is a complicated history between Israel, Palestine and other nations in the region. But what cannot be denied, what is factual, is that Palestinians have routinely had their land stolen from them, by Israel and by Britain. To invoke suggestions of anti-semitism, comparisons to the holocaust to remove the human rights of 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, close to half of that being children. To conflate “from the river to the sea” as anything other than freedom for people who’ve been stolen from by an oppressive force. Maniacs. Not a Jewish issue, in fact Jewish people worldwide are rallying against them, inside Israel too.

I think United would be silly to let him go. This rebuild is a 2-3 year project as a minimum, results will be bad in that time.

And there you have it. Culturally gun ownership is so ingrained into the way of life for a lot of Americans. I feel like you’d more likely see a split of the States than pro-gun areas accept severe restrictions.
-
Honestly I don’t know how they’re going to end mass shootings but it won’t be with gun control.

Good to see him getting some minutes, even with our injury crisis it’s really competitive getting into our midfield. You either have to be a game changer like Jensen or Dasilva, or do the box to box/defensive stuff that Norgaard, Janelt and Damsgaard can do. Looks like he’s done more of the latter. -

Big win against Burnley, much needed after a month or so of good performances and no results. Good team from Frank, Ajer at right back is great cover for us to have and Janelt played left back really well. Janelt is so versatile, number 8, 6, LCB or LB, he’ll do the job. Collins played really well too, love how high up he pushed defensively, always trying to win the ball and play someone in. He will be playing for a big club in the next couple of years. Nearly had an assist today too. Dominant going forward today, great team goal for Wissa’s first, Mbuemo decides to score a curler from outside the box so Ghoddos goes one better and rifles one in. Maupay unlucky not to have scored today, VAR ruled the build up play offside fairly. Had another go in the box after that Trafford tipped over. His build up play was also excellent, game Wissa and Mbeumo a platform to perform on. Hopefully we get more of that because there’s so much to get out of Maupay that the league is yet to see. We now play Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool and Arsenal. Tough month ahead, I think we’re hoping for Schade to come back by end of November against Arsenal, Dasilva too, but we’ll see. Hopefully Lewis-Potter should be back soon too. -

the covid vaccine -
No of course not, but considering his father was murdered during the troubles there is some weight behind it.

Patrick Kielty shared a very poignant message on the Late Late show, hopefully some peace can be found eventually for innocent civilians on both sides of the conflict.
-
When does the big bad Bentancur come back? Genuinely one of my favourite players in the league, the more I see of Bissouma the more I want to see them together.

Our current injury/suspension list in formation of our preferred starting eleven versus our current injured eleven. As you can see (bolded = injured) 4 players remain currently in the preferred eleven. Preferred Eleven Flekken Hickey - Pinnock - Mee - Henry Damsgaard/Dasilva - Norgaard - Jensen Mbeumo - Toney - Schade Schade - Toney - Lewis-Potter Damsgaard - Baptiste - Dasilva Henry - Pinnock - Mee - Goode Flekken Injured Eleven -
I miss Ollie at Brentford! He does a lot of leg work that players around him can benefit from, he fit so well into our frontline of him, Benrahma and Mbeumo. They just all created for each other and it was very fluid, it meant that he scored all types of goals rather than just the one type over and over. I think when you get that fluidity from him you will get a variety of goals and a lot of them.

England National Team Discussion
Danny replied to carefreeluke's topic in International Competitions
Watkins is better than Nketiah and Wilson, glad to see him get the call up, looks set to bag 20+ this season. Bowen with a deserved call up too. I know people will focus on Maguire and Phillips but there is a lot of depth to this England team that has been introduced the last couple of games. The Australia game should be a good run out for the wider squad, shouldn’t need to play as strong a team as we did against Scotland. For Italy I’d like to see something like: Kane Foden - Bellingham - Saka Rice - Trent Trippier - Guehi - Stones - Walker Pickford
