  1. Terry was there when they were leaking, don’t think their defensive record was more down to him than Smith
  2. First game at the new stadium, honestly love it. So much more intimate in person than on Tele, love the roofs curving over the stands too to hold the atmosphere. Game as a whole was fairly drab, West Ham won but probably weren’t the better side. With that said not a lot in it. Shandon Baptiste made a massive impact, he was out all season last season to the point we forgot about him when talking about our midfield. Looked so good today, assured, dribbled with ease and hit the post from distance. Halil Dervisoglu looked good as well, very nifty on the ball in the first half. Let’s see how he does this season. Frank Onyeka also looked good first half, was everywhere. Played most of the game without Norgaard, Toney, Mbeumo, no Jensen. But we looked good, looking forward to the season starting.
  3. Shows the difficult task Leicester and Rodgers have, easy to call them bottle jobs without taking into consideration the wage bill issue.
  4. There wasn't a bad goal scored in that game. Was nice to see Mbeumo scoring a type of goal he made staple in his first season with us, but not so much last season.
  5. What do you expect the team to look like end of transfer window?
  6. Ironically my first game at the new stadium is this Saturday to watch our pre-season friendly against West Ham. Bought tickets to the season opener against Arsenal too.
  7. Depending on how bad it is they can give out steroid tablets, that's what I took. Mind I went through one inhaler in about 2 days when I had covid
  8. @Michael I have asthma so combine that with Covid and my breathing was terrible, nearly went into A&E at one point. Best thing to do is look into your doctor giving you some steroids for your lungs, but speak to your GP anyway as they might be able to recommend something else for you

    Cricket

I like the graphics tbh, can see how they’d annoy a cricket fan like yourself but for someone like me who dips in and out of the sport they really help simplify the action.

  14. On a side note I'm double jabbed now, so that's good news.
  15. Feels like we're a petri dish that we're allowing to grow and grow and grow....let's hope this doesn't create a strain that is adaptable to the vaccines. It also feels like people's "we just need to learn to live with this now" attitude of just dropping any sort of restriction is for a lot of people who are clinically vulnerable going to be a death sentence....and/or no end of isolating insight. You take the breaks off slowly, not completely as cases are rising as high as they were in January.

Do you mix Olive Oil with your pasta before serving to stop it from going dry/sticky?
  17. Interesting to see a youth exodus, unsurprising that it’s happening at Chelsea. Not seen this lad we’re linked with play mind

Good luck old man hopefully you don’t get it too bad (if at all)
  19. I didn't realise Tyrick Mitchell came from our academy, glad to see him close to (or in) the first team at Palace. Would have been difficult for a lot of the youth players with how they were cut from us. He's also fairly local to me being from Harrow too so nice to see lads from west/north west London being represented in the Prem these days.
  20. Was thinking about how young this England team is, a core of players that are all between 18-23. I think we know roughly based on this tournament and the last how Southgate will have us play, but how do we all think realistically our starting eleven will progress for the world cup? I think when it comes round we'll still see Sterling, Kane, Maguire and Shaw as mainstays. I'm not sure how much game time Foden gets in a team that looks to keep a clean sheet before winning, he works so well for City because of how they naturally stretch the game and push it onto the opposition, but we've seen with England this tournament that Foden has struggled to take the ball from deep and advance with it himself, he's needed more bodies around him stretching the game to be a threat and he hasn't had that. I think the next area of progression for this team needs to be in central midfield and Southgate needs to find a way to get Mount, Rice, Phillips, Henderson and Bellingham playing a more expansive game. The bolded I hope will get more game time as that's where the technical talent is, I like Rice but his passing game hasn't been that great for us though his dribbles have been good. I like Henderson but he doesn't really stand out for England, he does in a Liverpool side where he's surrounded by world class talent, being managed by Klopp where he can act as the engine room for more talented players...but this England team doesn't have a Wijnaldum or a Fabinho in midfield and Southgate doesn't have the same attacking intent and ability as Klopp does. Outside of them we don't really have any great options, just players like James Ward-Prowse who are good but don't set the world alight. We'll have to see how Curtis Jones and Oliver Skipp get on this season and next. But even then, with the players highlighted before, they are central midfielders who take the ball and dribble (Bellingham, Mount, Rice). They're not players like Jorginho, Verrati, Locatelli for example who play a more possession based game, so then do we look to create a system where the midfield hold onto the ball or do we look to create a system where our central mids can take the ball and drive it forward. Generally you want balance, one dribbler, one possession based player and then a passing DM...but we don't have the possession based player, just centre mids who can pass but in their bones they want to charge forward and take a player or two on.
  21. I didn’t even realise Kamara was on the move, but Rangers did just bring in Lundstram so maybe preempting. Feel like we’d have a better chance than most to sign Ajer with the Danish connection at our club, plus the new stadium will be a good pull though obviously there are much bigger clubs around
