  1. So soon working holiday visas will go up to 3 years for Brits in Aus, having already done two years that means I have one left. Think me and the missus will definitely be making a trip back once my degree ends.
  2. Oh yeah next seasons are the gambling sponsors
  3. My biggest issue with it is that gambling companies have shit logos and/or shit names. Cazoo, Steak, Hollywood Bet
  4. You can see Leeds’ problem right there, alongside an aged/peaked wider squad they really struggled.
  5. Free up the wage bill for Arsenal, they’ve clearly been trying to lower that over the last 18 months or so
  6. For anyone interested The Athletic published a really good article about our season and some behind the scenes bits throughout it. https://theathletic.com/3336767/2022/05/30/brentford-premier-league-norwich-watford/
  7. Didn't know where to put this but this is a quote from Thomas Frank talking about our play-off semi final first leg against Bournemouth the year we went up. Just love the mans drive to push forward and take risks as often as possible
  8. Got any decent articles as to why he’s not been good for the club? I can only listen to so many podcasts lol
  9. I don’t think I buy into the stuff about the bloke in Russia too much. I mean it depends on what sort of advice he’s receiving. For example it couldn’t be empirical, sort of advice most forward thinking managers receive in game these days.
  10. Next season will be a big one for Gerrard, these signings will mean they need to be achieving a top 6 finish which will be difficult I think. Can see a strong top 6 next season
  11. I think Mane and Salah would be mad to leave, playing under Klopp is a generational success.
  12. Only two of those players will likely play at right back though, Walker will be a centre back and Trippier most likely left back if we go to a back four which provides more centre back cover as he did in the Euros. The thing with Maddison though is that he has a lot of competition ahead of him. Southgate is a lot of things but he’s fair and also pragmatic. If you look at creators in the midfield that are less work horsey then you’ve got Foden, Grealish and Mount. Away from them we’ve also got Bellingham and Ward-Prowse who will play a slightly different role but still offer much of the same. I feel for Maddison but I think there’s always a logic to what Southgate does and if a player who seems to deserve a call up doesn’t get it it’s not cos Southgate doesn’t rate them, it’s probably because he balances out the type of players he will call up and he’s already called up a few players similar to Maddison.
  13. Looking at the LWB’s there I dont see why Rico Henry doesn’t make the squad. But Southgate does like flexibility in players and Justin can play both wings
  14. That squad screams 2 man midfield which is why I can see Maddison not getting in.
  15. Mate he’s been the manager of Ajax this season, he will not have done enough research to fully know the capabilities of the players and who will be of use to him. Plus he’s not going to alienate the entire squad by saying yeah I know who’s getting the boot.

  18. People who have no idea what salbutamol is are talking a lot of nonsense about it. A quick google can quite easily clear up misconceptions. ”It’s banned in cycling”. Yes taking 800grams of it over a 12 hour period is banned. That is essentially the equivalent of 8 puffs of your inhaler twice a day, a GP will tell you that you are not meant to use it more than twice a week otherwise you will need an asthma review. The limit is set at 800mgs per 12 hours at maximum because that is what manufacturers state the highest usage of the inhaler should be. If you are using it at this level it is to prevent short term sudden shortness of breathe and you are essentially at risk of an asthma attack and your asthma needs to be better managed. Furthermore some quick Googling will show you that asthma is much more prevalent amongst long distance athletes, another quick check shows that at one point 70% of the British Swimming team were found to have some form of asthma.
  19. I don’t get this at all. Just 2 spots? Or two extra spots on top of 2 spots already?
  20. I'm not writing Potter off, tbh I haven't seen enough from him to suggest that he'd be a success or a failure but one area I think Spurs would be looking at of his is Brighton's draws this season, joint highest with Palace. From Spurs' perspective though they have two of the best forwards in the league and now what looks like a really good acquisition in Kulusevski. They're not winning the league atm but I don't think they're far off of challenging in the latter rounds of the Champions League, making FA Cup finals and in general putting in respectable point tallies in the league behind Liverpool and City. Spurs right now aren't in the position they were when Poch first came through, so bringing someone like Potter in who is similar to Poch back I don't think is the right idea. Where they'll get a manager from who knows, but I think the best thing for them at the moment is to hold onto Conte for as long as possible because I don't see Harry Kane ever changing his mind about staying at Spurs with Graham Potter in charge.
  21. I think Nuno is probably the reason why Potter doesn't get it. I think Spurs will go back for Poch.
  22. With all due respect to both club's history there is a gulf in what Spurs should currently be expecting as a bare minimum and what you should be. I think Potter would be a great appointment for you, not expected to win silverware, opportunity to bring in young players, grow the team, grow expectations from mid-table nothingness to Europa League contention. But Spurs are not looking at Europa League contention, not with the new stadium and players like Kane and Son at the club even if there is some dross elsewhere. I just think the Spurs job is a level too soon to be giving to Potter and they need to go after someone who can turn them into competitors for silverware again whilst getting into and staying in the top 4 regularly.
  23. Graham Potter to Spurs is mental, that move is essentially like going for a BTEC Poch imo. They have one of the best stadiums in Europe and a team that with the right investment could easily be in the top 4 regularly challenging for silverware. I don't know who they should go for if Conte leaves, but it has to be someone with a track record of winning alongside playing progressive football.
  24. Pretty much, you can’t argue with what you have won because it’s a fact that you have won it. But when people bring up the talk of massive clubs, it’s not just 10-20 years of being propped up by a foreign owner, it’s consistently being up there for decades upon decades and that is something Arsenal have been consistent with. When people are talking about football clubs in that way then they need to be mindful of the history as a whole as that is what makes these clubs so big.
