  1. This place (and t’internet in general) can get tiring, imagine he’s just got his hands full with his family
  2. For the life of me I can’t fucking post in this thread I wrote a line up and some thoughts on Grealish/Ramsdale and everytime I try and post it the page just resets
  3. Jaysus I thought Ox was fairly inexpensive
  4. Strange as well that Naby was a big money purchase at the time and not a cheapish buy in the way Oxlade-Chamberlain was. You’d take injuries in the chin when it’s players who haven’t costed a lot who help you bypass what City/Chelsea/United end up spending
  5. I was more just having a laugh mate but not always easy to portray that without the use of a billion emojis
  6. Swings and roundabouts. I grew up with the generation of Shay Given, Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Damien Duff, Ian Harte....strangely as a kid I would always pretend I was Steve Staunton when playing footy even though you had those name to choose from Scotland have been poor for a long time and now you're finally getting that good crop of players coming through...Wales were so and so for a while and are now seeing out the glory days of Bale and Ramsay. Since the 2012 Euro's it's been a bit of a torrid time for Irish football, but we are in a bit of a redevelopment phase as Stephen Kenny has come in and completely reshaped the brand of football that is played whilst also offering international opportunities to a wider group of players creating more competition. He just needs some of the young talent to do well in Europe's top leagues for what he's trying to achieve to really be a success. Because at a base level now the players are all playing for the manager and have adapted to the style of play.
  7. Nothing against the in stadium celebrations or the actual interview, having enjoyed the shithousery of Neal Maupay I can enjoy it when it happens against us. But the fact that his goalscoring ability fell off a cliff for a period of 16 games prior, to go home, get it clipped together and post it on his socials....It's very Arsenal taking selfies after scoring a goal whilst simultaneously not being good enough to win anything and a little bit Crystal Palace having a goal of the month competition when they haven't scored a goal in that month
  8. I don't have a problem with Maddison getting stick off of our supporters and then giving it back after he scored....but he's just posted a clip of his post-match interview talking about giving one back to opposition fans, the goal and his celebration on TikTok. That's his first goal in 16 Premier League games...
  9. I get the feeling he may not necessarily end up being world class, but seeing Scotland have the likes of Robertson, Tierney, Gilmour, McGinn etc, Wales with Bale and Ramsay. Ireland have just been lagging behind with that sort of talent, the last player to really be anywhere near that level would have been Coleman and prior to him Keane. Essentially I've a lot of hope for the likes of Bazunu, Kelleher, Troy Parrott, Andrew Omobamidele. I don't think we're looking at players at the level of your Ramsay's and Bale's, but McGinn, Tierney would be nice rather than relying on mostly Championship level players.
  10. I want to see more of Kelleher, someone so young playing as a backup keeper for you is great for Irish football. Unfortunately he's not had much game time which is to be expected with Allison there, and now he is behind Gavin Bazunu for the national team.
  11. I'm not for or against the fall of the Union (well, on the island of Britain anyway) but one thing that's interested me is how far right would Scottish politics go once you remove the barrier of the Conservative party. It opens up a space in Scotland for Scottish rightwing politicians to create a purely mainstream Scottish conservatism, where you can push Scottish independence/nationalism and right wing ideology at the same time.
  12. We have one in our stadium and you only ever hear positive things about it, great to see the staff were on the ball here too.
  13. It's one of the most tone deaf interviews I've ever heard over something so trivial, so fair play to Sky for knocking that one out of the park, asking questions like "why do you want to be called your name?" Prior to that they were telling us if Raheem Sterling moves abroad it will be to someone like PSG or Barcelona because he is, surprisingly, one of the best players in the world.
  14. Danny

    Boxing

Feel like Wilder winning prolongs this long enough for Fury not to get bored of a potential AJ fight
  15. I think I've been defensive of Nuno as a manager but I think the main issue so far having watch Spurs under him is the squad he has isn't suited specifically to how he wants to play, and I'm not sure Spurs will move certain players on to do that as it may feel reductive to the squad they have built. They have a run of fairly difficult fixtures imo up until December which under Poch you would have expected them to win most, but under Mourinho and now Nuno I'm not so sure.
  16. Long term the stadium will price local people out of the area, it is a hub (hence its location) for further gentrification and will harm the local residents of Tottenham, turning it into another Brixton or Peckham and a hub for the middle classes who live (and who will in future live) in Tottenham and those who travel in on match day from the Home Counties. Hundreds of millions of pounds passing through a football club, a football club uses the area it is in and the people who live there to market itself but then does not share much of its wealth with that community which is generally a pittance in comparison to what is being paid out to other departments within the club, generally in football and especially in Spurs’ case this means the area the club is located in is one of the most deprived parts of the country. The concerns of gentrification and wealth hoarding are not whataboutery. They are legitimate concerns that cause poverty, poor mental health, physical ill health and death. The difference between those issues and this issue is that they generally remain invisible to the average person who is not from that local community and not affected by it, this however is front page news. You can be against the regime without being selective about who you direct your anger towards, in this case football fans in Newcastle. Otherwise I hope you are equally demanding of yourself in every facet of your day to day life in not participating within systems much greater than you that have become the day to day norm throughout British society that either destroy the environment and/or oppress and exploit people elsewhere around the globe. And it’s not your word to own if you’re not Jewish, after all there are a lot of Jewish people who are against the use of that word from non-Jewish people. Far greater I would imagine than the amount of people that support Tottenham.
  17. Selective outrage though isn't it? Not in the wrong for being against it, but football as an industry is rooted in so many inequalities. Production of merchandise, gentrification of local areas from newly built stadiums (your stadium, much like the Emirates, won't do a lot of good for poorer people actually from Tottenham, same with the Emirates for people in Highbury/Holloway Road/Finsbury Park), football club's using the local area to promote themselves and then making millions of pounds and reinvesting only a tiny percentage of that back into the community. To fall back onto the argument of not doing something at the expense of your own values is fairly hypocritical seeing as the Premier League is a breeding ground for unchecked capitalism and inequality. Take your own club, thousands of fans nowadays with no Jewish heritage whatsoever taking it upon themselves to decide how the word Yid should be used. I can't imagine an appreciation for Jewish people and their culture is really at the heart of their thought processes.
  18. It’s a weird thing to say but he seemed to be a winner first and a tactician after, whereas the likes of Bielsa or even Guardiola have quite a heavy reliance on a specific tactical framework. I think that’s why a lot of ex-Ferguson players seem to be managers with a lot of soundbite but not a lot of tactical consistency
  19. Interesting that when you hear former players and now managers talk about his influence, even though he was clearly tactically aware and flexible, they seem to use the classic “play it out to the wings” with a seasoning of “swashbuckling” thrown in for good measure. Rarely any great tactical incite.
  20. I have no idea what’s gone on past big Ferg saying Ronaldo shoulda started. Everyone’s gunna have an opinion though, like you suggest hard to blame someone for having it just cos it was secretly recorded!
  21. No one bought this yet? Defending issues in the last game not been addressed and the graphics are visibly worse...all well and good having a realistic Jack Grealish but if you can’t do the basics it really is a wasted £50
