  1. Works for all of us really. Celtic fans telling us he won't be here for 5 and a half more years as if it's some major breakthrough.
  2. It's just typical of the media in this country. He was implying that the majority of managers in the league have release clauses as if to say it's nothing special and the lot of them took that as him going to Arsenal it's laughable how it's gotten to this point and that he's had to come out and reaffirm what he actually meant. All a bit pathetic. Twats like Richard Keys and Chris Sutton trying to stay relevant as well. Sutton's been nothing short of embarrassing about Rodgers. It's borderline mental.
  3. There are very few circumstances where I think a manager has a legitimate reason to turn down Arsenal to stay at Leicester. This current however is one of them. If Rodgers goes to Arsenal and fails, he could be done at any decent sized club in this country. His reputation post Liverpool was hardly the greatest (we got some stick ourselves for appointing him) so to go to Arsenal and not deliver, which you've got to say is very possible given what a rebuild they need, it would be a big risk. You've got a lot to lose leaving Leicester. What we are not is a massive club or a massive name. But when you weigh up what you do actually get at Leicester - it's a really good job. You get an excellent owner that will back you, you've got a fanbase that, while there aren't no expectations, they pale into insignificance compared to somewhere like Arsenal. You've got a very good squad already in place, loads of really good young players tied down for years - something that gives Leicester a lot of security going forwards as we've now got the power to get big money for them. This is a club going in the right direction for sure. It's a really nice set of circumstances for any manager, and I think Rodgers knows that. Rodgers doesn't have to chuck everything away here for a rebuild needing Arsenal. What does he realistically expect to do there in the next 2/3 years that he's not going to do here this year? We've got every chance of making the top 4 this year. What are Arsenal going to do that's better than that? Does he think he could win them a title, or a European trophy? If this was Man City or Liverpool, I'd totally get it. Arsenal? I think you're on a hiding to nothing. Rodgers has got 20+ years left in management if he wants it. If he gets Leicester into the top 4, he could have a far better offer than Arsenal come in for him. There's a reason Arsenal ended up with Emery. If Arsenal got their act together, put in a proper recruitment structure and invested in quality young players, I think the appeal becomes instantly significant. For now though? Poisoned chalice. He'd be making a mistake going there.
  4. That can't be your XI for Astana surely. Throwing some on the Kazakhs me fucking hell.
  5. I don't know how they can draw positives from that Sheffield United game. They came back after being terrible against a side with a tiny fraction of their resources and bottled that as well. If they are searching for positives from that then the standards have hit the floor to be honest. That would worry me more than the game itself.
  6. Sheffield United's equaliser v Manchester United - euphoric, iconic moment for them tainted by VAR. It just isn't the same when you're having to wait to find out if it counted or not.
  7. As much as I dislike VAR, league tables 'without VAR' are on a par with combined XIs, It's just meaningless drivel. Goals totally alter games. You cannot draw a definitive result based on one decision unless it was effectively the last kick of the game. Example - Leicester v Tottenham. Non VAR table gives Tottenham the win as they go 0-2 up through Aurier - goal is chalked off for offside. This doesn't factor in that Tottenham have thrown away 0-2 leads on several occasions, nor did it factor in that VAR actually stopped Leicester going 1-0 up in the first half. How can you possibly say for sure? I absolutely admit we've been one of VAR's main beneficiaries but those kinds of tables are just absolute drivel and typical of the excuse making culture of today.
  8. Pochettino's stock is very high. Why on earth would he go to Everton? With each manager that sinks at Everton every other prospective manager must think it's a bit of a minefield of a job. Eddie Howe however is an Everton fan so this may not bother him. Arteta would be very interesting mind you.
  9. I think it's Liverpool's but we shouldn't be discounted. We are winning routinely at a canter. We have scored 17 goals since we last conceded. We've won 5 in a row with a very decent chance given the fixtures that we make it 9. We have the leagues top scorer, the leagues best defence, the leagues second best attack. We've been utterly brilliant. We've taken the start of picking results up without the performances to getting even better results with the performances to match. It's an exceptional Leicester side.
  10. You've got absolutely no excuses to not win that game and yet I couldn't confidently say you will.
  11. That team continues to not get the respect it deserves. We actually got slated for winning 1-0
  12. I haven't seen a single word from him there about Tottenham. That's been spun somewhat.
  13. I agree the truth is probably somewhere in-between. If it's true that he wasn't being backed though - what exactly was he there for? I can totally believe he'd have wanted all of those players but there's bound to be a few gems in there regardless. Easy to say now. I do think though for all the stick he gets at Everton - you clearly didn't implement whatever Walsh did at Leicester. Granted, he was operating on quite a different budget to what he started with here. When you read the full article he seems to relish the blank canvas and being forced into some kind of innovation. At Everton you had immediate expectations, that of course were nowhere close to being met. It'd likely be a different story if Walsh came into Leicester a year ago for example.
  14. That table can't be measured. What result are they giving Leicester v Tottenham? We went 1-0 up in that but VAR chalked it off. VAR later then stopped Spurs going 0-2 up. How could they possibly know? Stupid table.
  15. I just typed it I think? It's more in reaction to Emery being safe than just aimless goading. I've hit the point with you where I think Arsenal are better just without Emery for the rest of the season regardless and just getting in a caretaker. Things have clearly gone quite sour.
  16. Top four is now a necessity for us. It's there for the taking. Arsenal and Man Utd have been as shambolic as all competitors hoped they would be. The manner of Arsenal's perfomances have been absolutely worrying. Some terrible set ups and performances.
  17. Yeah to be honest you do feel like he'd need to click immediately and he probably wouldn't. You need to lay some better foundations. Sort the recruitment out quite simply and you'll pick up.
  18. Arsenal should go for Chris Wilder. Not even joking.
  19. You never know though. I admittedly find it hard to imagine but I won't rule him out of anything anymore.
  20. The thought did come into my head but while I think the whole rhetoric about us playing a league against a load of rubbish that season is unfair, it's true that there was nothing like this Liverpool side or this Man City side. I've got my belief back about us though. I feel even if Man City or Liverpool came here we'd have a chance of getting something. That's quite a difference from a year ago where we'd rock up and drop points to any old dross at home.
  21. The thing that gets me most about them is how stylistically different they are as teams. They really couldn't play any differently to each other. I think this side has more talented players but that title winning side showed a steel that was frankly extraordinary in football. There's been a lot of revisionism about that side since it happened and it's mainly negative. It was such a well balanced side. I do however think that this group of players will probably go on to achieve more in their careers than that group did. It's easy to forget how young this group of players is. Tielemans 22, Maddison 22, Barnes 21, Ndidi 22, Chilwell 22, Soyuncu 23 - for all the talk of Chelsea's youngsters our average age I bet is lower. It's probably the most exciting, most valuable squad we have ever had. We are in such a good place it's unbelievable really. I love a moan but I feel genuinely lucky to support us. We're a provincial club that has cleverly worked its way into something better, and I don't think we're finished at all. There's genuine ambition at this club and I know no other way of how it should be.
  22. It's absolutely mental. It's like buying a car but not being allowed to drive it.
  23. The single worst thing about it is how much it's taken over discussion. That isn't the fault of those discussing it either.
  24. The scouts are apparently a bit annoyed at Rodgers as they could've had him in the summer for £30mil but he wanted Perez instead. I'm not writing Perez off by any means but what was he thinking if that's true. Ziyech seems to play on the right for Ajax but drifts inside. Bit like Mahrez really. This will cost us something like £50mil I reckon. It'll be loads.
