I actually cannot believe those friendlies. They're taking the piss surely?

I watched a 10 minute video of him yesterday so I'm massively informed on him in my eyes To be honest what struck me about that video was that he's really quite tough. Not only does he look pretty good on the ball, quick, and versatile (playing on either side at full back too) but he is so combative and I like that, I still think that's a fundamental part of being a centre back that it's trendy to overlook. Possibly another Soyuncu, which is good as I think Soyuncu has a very high ceiling. I'd much sooner this than Tarkowski. @...Dan's comment just backs up what I thought I'd seen.

If that's a midfield of Phillips, Dier and Rice. We're playing Denmark not fucking Spain.
-
Tim Castagne has signed officially by the way. Decent signing.
-
Can't see the harm in that.
-
Wesley Fofana from St Etienne strongly rumoured to be coming now. Starting to rediscover some of my optimism. This is more like it.
-
That's interesting and like Stan says I think that effectively proves Castagne is a contigency plan for Ricardo leaving, but what about Justin? I'd have Gosens over Castagne though. I'd be well happy if we got him as well really. It would definitely hint to me three at the back. Maybe he prefers Justin RCB. He was pretty good there tbh, better than at full back arguably. Definitely means we need to buy a centre half, or maybe two. It does however alleviate the need for a winger, but instead definitely a striker.
-
I thought a while back we might sign Castagne this summer, he's out of contract in a year. I don't think that's a bad signing. It's a start. Keep going.

We've got a relatively generous opening 5 games (bar Man City away thrown in there) but it's worth pointing out we are pretty thin already, are without Evans for the first three games, Morgan limped off today. I do think we're probably doing what you have said. I just don't get it with us, we surely have some money, our net spend last summer was about £10mil (if that), we've just taken in £50mil or so for Chilwell. I get there's a pandemic but we're one of three clubs to bring in nobody and with the Europa League coming we're one of the sides in most need of strengthening. Unless they really back a couple of our youngsters to come through. I'm not demanding an overhaul but I can't believe we've done nothing.
-
Two weeks until the first game and still no sign of any signings. Absolutely miserable.
-
I did wonder if it was injury related or something to do with the talk that a number of our players aren't returning to training due to quarantine rules. Made me wonder if he was one of them.
-
I just cannot fathom how he's ended up taking Kane, Ings and Abraham yet no left back. Surely you just drop one of those (Abraham for me) and bring in Chilwell, Saka or even Shaw. Just bizarre that we'd choose to not call one up at all yet will definitely play with one.
-
Seriously, who is playing left back?
-
It's apparently a quite common situation across the league. I mean it's not ideal but that makes it slightly less annoying.
-
More the fact that they aren't going to be allowed to train or play in friendlies is why he's livid I think. Not setting ourselves up nicely early doors. I'll be interested to know who these players are. Tagliafico would ease a lot of my fears, would be a really good signing, exactly the type I think we need - experience of winning trophies, European football and quite possibly an upgrade on Chilwell. I thought Mendy was basically off. I don't mind Mendy as an option especially we have the Europa League but another three years seems well over the top to me for somebody who'll do well to start 20 league games in that time - this isn't somebody who came in on the cheap either so I'd imagine he's not on a bad wage. Then again he's probably too young to be accepting just a year. Two would've made sense but three is just excessive.
-
I don't know which players but had it confirmed that it's happened so we can put two and two together on Wednesday - Rodgers is apparently absolutely furious, which he has every right to be. Given he's supposedly angry I'm imagining somebody has dropped a clanger and broken some sort of rules. For all I personally think the restrictions are over the top (totally different debate to be honest) you simply can't get away with it in the public eye. I really thought we'd have a signing in by now. I think we need about 4 signings and that's at a minimum. I don't get the delay in the Maddison news, I mean good news of course but why has it taken six months to announce it Mendy has also signed a new deal today (well announced, could've signed it any time in the last decade), I don't mind but do you think three years is slightly excessive? For somebody I had as basically nailed on to leave that just seems a bit over the top to me.
-
Christ things sound a bit bleak with us. Had it basically confirmed to me six of our players have broken the lockdown rules therefore can't actually train for another week (look out for the missing names on Wednesday's game), long-term physio Dave Rennie has been let go, which is just bizarre. Not getting a good vibe from us, really don't get what's going on.
-
Their alternative really isn't good enough either. It's slightly better (well, less poor) but I'm still not really impressed.
-
Right on cue I've just seen a tweet from someone at the Mercury saying the club are reviewing things. Fair play if they do change their minds on this. I feel a bit damned either way in the current situation. Being honest I've got no real interest in attending football-lite, but at the same time I don't want to lose my priority points as I'm in a position currently where I can be basically guaranteed a ticket for any game (in normal circumstances before some clever cunt says it ).
-
It's just downright greed. It's even worse given it was on the day we've effectively guaranteed we're going to get £65mil for Chilwell and £8mil for Slimani too. It's a rare PR own goal from us. Having realised we have a window of around two weeks to renew I'll be waiting and seeing how the club react to this. They've gotten this one wrong.

He's lovely on FM. If you sign Thiago Silva and a new keeper I'm going to start taking you really quite seriously this year.

Didn't realise we held the record for most paid for a 2nd and 5th tier player. -

Second season running I've been incredibly unlucky with my pre-season bet. Had Leicester to win the league without the big six, and Brentford to go up, for £660. They blow it three times. Last year I had Liverpool & Man City to get 90 goals for £400, Man City got 109, Liverpool got 89 -

Come on Brentford. Finish it off. -
Andy King's spent a very long time at a club who've been through one of the sporting rollercoasters of all time during that very period. He's seen and done it all for us. While he hasn't really been a first choice player for a lot of that time, particularly the last 5 or so years, he's going to have some real stories to tell of his time here. I'd love him to write a book one day. His first goal here was right up there with his best, an absolute rocket against Southampton in the year we dropped to League One. To think he leaves us with a League One winners medal, a Championship winners medal, a Premier League winners medal, via playing in the Champions League - it is unbelievable really. He's scored some really big goals for us over the years. Like I said - he's not really involved much these days, but he scored the goal that started the great escape in the win over West Ham. He's scored so many goals against our local rivals, the goal that got us into the play-offs at Preston, a goal at Cardiff in them, a goal at Forest to get is into the play-offs, so many more - too many to reel off really. He's been the one constant of the absolute madness that is Leicester City. For that he is a legend.
