  1. Feel like that was a big win for you earlier. Had a horrible feeling you were going to chuck it away and lose.
  2. I just don't get Rice to be honest. Like not rubbish but seems like one of those over-rated because he's English and we just so happen to have a bit of a problem at holding midfield. Would be classic England for Barkley to get more minutes in the Euros than Maddison or Grealish.
  3. This is the sort of situation I'm hoping for. I think we could sell Chilwell, strengthen and make money in the process.
  4. Good news. Something tells me Fernandes to Man Utd has helped that. I think he stays for another 18 months. I think Chilwell goes to Chelsea this summer.
  5. That's a fair point to be honest. Maybe every player needs to have one installed into their stomach as a Premier League requirement
  6. The best solution I've read for the offside situation is to put a tiny monitor in the shirt of each player or something, in a standard place so everyone's is the same and then have a goal line technology like system to measure who if offside, therefore you get the decision instantly like you do with goal line. The catch of course is this will render linesman pretty irrelevant, their only job really is to be an incidactor of what's happened rather than making the decision, and that's quite a step towards officials being gotten rid of completely which I think would be a shame. It can't go on the way it is. Nobody can possibly like these delays.
  7. Yep. It's always instigated by people looking to make a quick buck. Long term damage for short term gain - lead by people who will only be affected by the short term gain. The super league is another. It would fall to pieces.
  8. Funny how people always swallow the bullshit about winter breaks and stuff. They're very clever when it comes to these things. It's all just bullshit to free up space for more games or any other measure to suit the latest clan of executives or whoever. UEFA are abysmal.
  9. Did you ever get mine?
  10. Rashford should rotate with the wingers, he's better there.
  11. As for Choudhury it's a bit early I think but in fairness, we don't really have many players like him and he's about to get a good run in our team with Ndidi out, so there's a chance he catches the eye. Honestly, if Kane's out (and to be honest, even if he isn't it should be considered), how can England seriously not take Vardy?
  12. Maddison wouldn't be a good fit at Liverpool. He just isn't their type of player I don't think.
  13. Is that Teso over here dropping truth bombs? Good work.
  14. Maddison's best for us on the left of the midfield two in front of a holding midfielder - what's good as well is that you retain the Chilwell link. Playing him on the wing would be utterly nonsensical for England. Regarding the Maddison v Grealish debate - I think there's very little in it, both are quality players and both should be heavily involved, but I'd not be surprised to see both of them overlooked more than they deserve to be, Maddison has been already and Grealish is probably an even bigger maverick, England don't usually favour those types. The Kane situation is going to pose an interesting question but unfortunately England usually get these wrong when it comes to tournaments. We'd favour a half fit Kane over Vardy, and that's just plain wrong as far as I'm concerned. They've got to have a serious talk with Vardy to get him involved. He's well on course to hit 30 goals this season. How can you overlook that?
  15. Stance hasn't changed one bit since the first weekend. The over-scrutinising of every single goal near enough just doesn't wash with me and it's clearly done absolutely nothing to erase controversy either when you look at this weekend.
  16. Puel definitely set us on the right track, he was just never going to be the right man to really progress things. Rodgers was the perfect replacement, really.
  17. It gets funnier by the week. Speaking of centre halves we're supposedly in for Merih Demiral - plays for Turkey with Soyuncu.
  18. Quite rightly so. I don't see any demanding to go when we're in this position, nor do I think we'd entertain selling any regulars. Genuinely think we would hold out for nine figures for any starter. We're in a superb position financially now. Our net spend in the summer was tiny and we're now looking like landing another pot of Champions League money. Good times for us.
  19. I do think you can't really over-estimate good coaching - don't get me wrong I'm taking our squad over yours but there's a lot less between them than the table suggests in my opinion.
  20. This'll be unpopular but I can see this going pear shaped. I get why people would be excited and you would have to say it's a coup given what he's achieved in the game but I said it with the Arsenal link too that his best days seem very much behind him. I think there'll be an initial lift before the usual unraveling. He's got a fantastic CV but it's a totally different proposition managing Everton in their situation to managing a Bayern or PSG. Chalk and cheese.
  21. I'm in agreement about Ancelotti. Think he's about due a stint in China or somewhere now. Think his best days are very much behind him.
  22. I think as a leader he was never all that either really. Evans was more of an organiser. Morgan despite being captain wasn't that big an organiser either really and was usually better alongside Evans or Huth. Maguire and Morgan was a car crash and for all the shit Morgan gets, in terms of pure defending it wasn't like either were innocent.
  23. Said it many a time and to be honest the picture became clearer and clearer through a lot of last season that Maguire wasn't ever particularly brilliant. Not rubbish, but overhyped largely due to him being an England international and a down to earth type of character. These of course aren't bad things but they screw peoples perception somewhat. It was quite telling that our record without him even last year was better than it was with him. Evans is the better of the two.
