  1. Yeah we took Allez Allez Allez from another song a club we played in Europe did and took the song to England for the first time. I don’t think the chant being copied is inherently wrong, it’s literally what football supporters do lol. And us taking a tune we hear from other fans in Europe and swapping the words around is one of the best things that come from us being in Europe. The songs been sung by City fans for the whole season, so if it was fans I’d say it’s a non-story. But it’s got a line about Kompany injuring Salah, I think the line is “and Kompany injures Salah” - at the beginning of the season the line was Ramos injured Salah but they’ve changed it after Kompany attempted a leg breaker on Mo. Again if it was fans, who cares it’s a stupid song, but here it’s a team of pros glorifying another pro’s injury - that’s a bit weird. There’s also a line about us getting battered in the streets - and that’s a reference to the high profile incident of a Liverpool fan getting battered outside Anfield against the Roma game. If it’s fans singing about someone that’s just been put in a coma and only recently came out of it, that’s obviously not very nice - pretty tasteless really. But there’ve been worse chants. But a pack of millionaires singing about a fan that’s just come out of a coma seems much worse to me. If it was fans I’d be saying it’s tinpot, you’ve won the league and you’re singing about us. But the players singing it just makes me think “what a pack of cunts”
  2. Anyone see the City players mocking our Allez Allez Allez chant, mocking Salah for getting injured and Sean Cox for nearly getting murdered? It’s one thing if it’s fans, but the fucking players? Scum, the lot of them
  3. Coutinho's spent all year getting booed by Barcelona fans, what are you talking about? They want him to be sold and would rather see Dembele (who, by the way... is black) start instead of Coutinho. But that doesn't really fit your narrative, does it? Particularly because your narrative ignores that Coutinho's been getting booed all year by Barcelona fans Also, not that it matters because apparently only individuals matter in team sports to you, but you do realise that in American football, the number of times a quarterback is hit generally has to do with the quality of the offensive line in front of them. I can't believe I just had to fucking explain that to you, I'm from the North of England and you're from Alabama. Look at the list of the most sacked quarterbacks from 2018... only 3 of the top 10 are black. By the way, none of the 3 quarterbacks you listed were on that list... so they aren't even great examples.
  4. So Robert Baratheon is looking like the best ruler Westeros had on the show imo. Which had me reading some of his quotes from the show and then I came across this one: "Do you think it's honor that's keeping the peace? It's fear! FEAR AND BLOOD!" Seems pretty in keeping with Westeros's new queen's philosophy on keeping the peace. But I do think King Robert was ultimately right, they should have killed the Targaryan girl when they had the chance.
  5. Arya's probably not going to die, she's GRRM's wife's favourite character and she's said she'll leave him if he kills her or Sansa: https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/entertainment/interviews/a37208/arya-stark-maisie-williams-killed-off-game-thrones/ So... unless he wants a divorce, you probably haven't a hope in hell of seeing that.
  6. I do the same thing, I'll either donate the book to charity shops or give the book to someone else on the condition that when they're done they'll pass the book on to someone else. Picked that up from my dad
  7. When you say hard copy books do you mean none of that e-book reader bullshit like the Amazon one? If so, good man - I've tried so hard to like e-book shite but it bothers my eyes for some reason. Maybe they're better now than the one I used years ago... before I sold it because using it pissed me the fuck off while just grabbing a book and reading an actual book didn't piss me off. But yeah, they obviously had to trim a lot from the books to make it work with a TV show. Particularly this season, where sometimes GRRM would just waffle on about backstory - family members of the characters he's describing, shit like that. It's all interesting information, it's world building and is part of character development, but it doesn't serve any purpose in driving the main plot - particularly on a TV show where there are other ways to develop characters. And for 6 seasons, I think the show did a good job - even though it deviated pretty significantly - at telling it's story and developing the characters. On the plus side, I think that means there's plenty of GRRM written source material for spin-offs if they're prequels. There's stories he tells in the background of the story he's telling in his books - and Westeros and the world he's built have obviously captured millions of fans attentions. So I think if HBO wants easy money, they can probably pretty easily start with a "Rob's Rebellion" type show, and probably more than a few others - but there's a massive history for the story's world that exists in the existing source material. I still enjoy the show, it's clearly a masterpiece. And in terms of the production of the show and the cinematics of this season, it's all incredible. But I'm just annoyed at the drop in quality with the writing since the source material's dried up - I think a show that had such a long run of fantastic writing deserved better for it's final season. Having said that, I still think the show is strong despite all of the flak it's getting here (and tbh mostly elsewhere, the last episode's been panned almost everywhere - and I thought it was a much better episode than the episode before it, but apparently I'm one of the few who thinks so).
  8. Okay, ignoring how awful that looks when you use "too" instead of "to" let's just fact check that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenal_F.C.–Chelsea_F.C._rivalry Most wins Arsenal (76) Also here's an FA Cup final (2017): https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39984089 and the 2002 FA Cup final...
  9. I think nothing is as unforgiveable as Dany's 7 year development to be the breaker of chains being lazily cast aside for the sake of D&D deciding they can tell the story with less episodes. I think the next episode is going to be the most divisive in the series... just looking at how this final season has polarised so many fans. I don't know what the rationale behind only having 6 episodes to close out this season, but it really does seem like they went for cinematic sequences over plot this season... and that doesn't seem fitting for a show that received so much praise for how it delivered the plot to its viewers.
  10. The only explanation I can think of other than "oh D&D fucked up again" is that Dany left Dothraki at Dragonsreach to defend Dragonsreach while she went north with the bulk of them. How many Unsullied are there though? There must have been shitloads brought over, because it seemed like many of them died in the Battle of Winterfell & in Euron's second ambush it seemed pretty bad for the Unsullied - wasn't really clear on how many had survived... but it didn't look like many. Yet there were still a fuckload for the fall of Kings Landing and in the "next time on GoT" trailer thing, there's still clearly plenty of Unsullied. Are these continuity errors or are there explanations that we just haven't been given because of the rush to get the story done?
  11. I thought it was hilarious tbh. I've no love for mercenaries.
  12. I'd also like to note that many of us have failed miserably for this latest episode in terms of using the spoilers tags. Except for @RandoEFC
  13. He's the face of the worst Manchester United team in my memory, so that's probably why he gets a lot of stick. He came in for a massive fee (after having left the club for free), there was all of that viral marketing about his return and how great he would be for Manchester United erupting over social media... and then he's come in and been inconsistent as fuck. Manchester United being shite isn't his fault. But rightly or wrongly, both he and the club positioned him to really be the face of the club and he is carrying the weight of the fans expectations falling well short. He's far from the only problem at Manchester United, but he's been a part of the problem (really this season everyone but McTominay has shown they're prone to letting their head drop and not fighting for the club) by being a player that the fans cannot count on to always put forth the maximum effort.
  14. I think all things considered, that’s got to be considered pretty decent. The lows of this season were low and you can still win a European cup. And I think CL qualification was your club’s goal this season, so job done there
  15. I don’t think anyone was expecting a fairy tail ending from the show that brought us the Red Wedding. The turn into the mad queen has been abrupt though and that’s just not great writing, unfortunately, with a show that’s had some of the best character development ever on television. Ultimately, I think the show deserved more than 6 episodes to conclude, and that would have allowed for the pacing and writing to have been better developed. Don’t get me wrong, great episode still. And the fact we’re getting such a high level production as a TV show is incredible. I am just a bit disappointed that a show that has one of the most intricate plot lines and sort of revolutionised TV narratives is getting an ending that to me feels rushed.
  16. Has he sacrificed his love yet? Was that Ygrette and he’s not actually in love with his aunt?
  17. I liked that episode best of the season so far, but this season’s rushed writing is bothering me. Ah well, we’re so close to finally seeing how this ends. I think it’s gonna go one or two ways. Either the Azor Ahai prophecy comes true (with either Jon or... Arya) or Dany kills everyone else She’d won though. Then she decided to “burn them all”
  18. Who doesn’t think Sanchez is a useless pile of shite now? There’s a player that deserves no respect, absolute joke
  19. I don’t think it’s Pogba’s fault his teammates are crap. But I do think it’s Pogba’s fault he’s crap alongside his crap teammates. Its not like you’ve seen Messi go missing for long chunks of a season. Because if you did I think this Barca would be fucked
  20. Generational talents don’t spend large chunks of a season being absolutely useless
  21. Yes yes, let’s hope all of the Spurs players see this and let’s it get into their heads
  22. I can't get the Virgil Van Djik song out of my head
  23. Those people are insane. People who support MEK (who fucking fought with the people gassing Iran in recent history) and want the Shah son put in are the dumbest of the Iranians abroad. I definitely don’t want a war in Iran, I have lots of family there.
