  1. Amatriciana. Go eat that in Rome and enjoy. Then go eat that anywhere else that makes it in the world and watch how badly they fuck it up. And just know that whenever you're not in Rome, the only place you'll get it done right is probably in your kitchen. Now go to the top of my post and replace the word "amatriciana" with "carbonara" and low and behold... the statement is just as accurate.
  2. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/apr/10/matt-gaetz-removed-kevin-mccarthy-house-speaker-ethics Kevin McCarthy was removed as speaker of the house to protect Matt Gaetz from being the subject of an investigation for fucking someone underaged.
  3. I don’t think the war is stopping any time soon. But you’ve said it yourself, the solution isn’t killing civilians & Hamas wants collateral damage as much as possible. So obviously the tactics that lead to huge civilian casualties, like bombing places they’ve told people to take shelter because they’ve heard one Hamas leader is amongst them, should be dropped. Israel is very precise when it wants to avoid blowback it’s worried about. A robot controlled machine gun that won’t even kill the person next to an assassination target is a marvel of spycraft and warfare. So maybe rely on Mossad for dealing with Gaza, rather than Shin Bet - who should probably getting a lot of blame for the present day as well. Precision bombing to target a complex attached to an embassy, but not damage the embassy at all is a remarkably precise strike. So maybe go after Hamas using precise strikes, not the kind of indiscriminate shit we see when the IDF takes on Palestinians. But the solution to extremist terrorism isn’t extremist warfare. And it is extremist warfare - a quick comparison to what the US did in Iraq proves that the way Israel is fighting shows a blatant disregard for Palestinian life.
  4. Tbf I don't think that's the spaghettis fault

    Fuck that's probably painful
  6. Coming out tomorrow now instead of the 11th
  7. I like both, but I prefer Indian curries. Tagliatelle > spaghetti for most sauces, imo.
  8. Tbh, I think it's unjustifiable to fail to condemn rape and killing children. Just because Israel and the IDF have decades of demonstrating a lack of human rights and disturbing disregard for the lives of innocents, Hamas and Hezbollah also have decades of the same. Hamas are not blameless in the oppression of Palestinians in Gaza, not to take away from the fact that Israel and the IDF are certainly guilty of oppressing Palestinians in Gaza... but Hamas have done a lot to stop the improvement of life in Gaza & have done a lot to worsen the conditions for the people living there - repeatedly demonstrating they do not care about the suffering of Palestinians when it comes to their war on Jews. I don't blame Gazans so much for their government as the last election in Gaza was decades ago, most people living in Gaza weren't even alive when it happened... and Hamas isn't exactly a group that allows for too many dissenting voices to keep living amongst them - they're not a democracy like Israel is. I know how difficult it can be for people to live under those sorts of governments, even without a perpetual state of conflict with people living right next door.
  9. How's he a sell out? He's taking western aid but doesn't really have one iota of concern about doing things the west isn't in favour of. He's had to marginally pull back because of the outcry of the use of the IDF to murder western aid workers - which was beyond the pale and unjustifiable regardless of whether Hamas is stealing aid or not (perhaps the strikes on WKC workers should have been directed at Hamas militants that were stealing the aid rather than trying to send a message to aid workers in Gaza). With his popularity at an all time low, all he's really got to cling onto power is to pander to the Ben-Gvir's of his party - and that means fighting a war in a way that the world will find detestable. And that's basically exactly what Hamas is banking on as long as they can stay alive for long enough to wait out the world opinion turning. If public opinion turns too much, that likely means Israel faces aid being cut or having conditions placed on it before receiving aid. Can Israel survive without support from the West when Russia has sided with Israel's enemies in Hamas, Houthis, and Iran? I think it's in Israel's best interests to get Netanyahu out of power ASAP and to start fighting the war in a way that's not going to make Israel and the IDF look like they couldn't give a fuck if every Palestinian dropped dead.
  10. Most of the hostages are probably dead, tbh. But Hamas aren't really interested in releasing them or having a ceasefire in any case. They just have to sit back and let Israel fight the way it's been fighting the war - the longer it goes on and the longer the suffering of innocents in Gaza carries on, Israel will lose the PR war. Netanyahu's not really arsed about the war for international opinion, probably because escalating in the war and keeping it going is keeping him in power.

    I was born without any
  12. The Sky story is from Florian Plettenberg, who is really just a bullshit artist that makes Fabrizio Romano look like an actual journalist. And according to Portuguese football fans that Pedro Sepulveda guy I quoted is also incredibly unreliable.
  13. That’s not very different tbh - isn’t the rule not even dependent on getting the ball now. They aren’t even meant to think about intent - isn’t it any attempt to obtain the ball, that endangers an opposing player, purposefully or not, is a foul. Here he: 1) Leaves the ground, 2) studs up, 3) makes contact with one ankle at just about the same time as he makes contact with the ball before following through the second ankle. Again, I’m not saying definitively or not that it’s a red. But as we don’t have a single referee in England that I think has any degree of confidence, I’ve sort of got to go off what Coward Webb and the ex-referees the football media wheel out to justify what refs do each week. If the new policy is: we show leniency on these types of challenges now - I say: good. But at the same time… I don’t think they should be changing policies mid-season as we’ve seen reds given for less - that flies in the face of the idea that referees should be consistent in their decision making.
  14. Wouldn’t be surprised if they roll over for Arsenal so they don’t feel responsible for 115 Charges or Liverpool winning.
  15. I think it’s being discussed because the standard of refereeing is a bit mental. Like I’ve said, there’ve been reds given this season for less. And they’ve even been defended as being legitimate reds, even on here - which is fine, everyone’s entitled to opinions and it’s boring if we all think the same thing. For me it’s more just discussion about how fucking weird it is there’s no consistency at all. And being honest, I think that’s a worse tackle than the one that broke Elliot’s leg last season that was given a red (which probably wasn’t a red - but was upheld on appeal for that Leeds player most likely because it resulted in a broken leg). So probably Diaz and Caserimo are both lucky Diaz’s leg wasn’t planted so nothing broke. But then it begs the question, should red cards be given/upheld on appeal… just because a player was unlucky enough to get a serious injury, whereas the same sort of challenge on a different night would likely not be considered a red? Should that even be considered instead of the actual challenge?
  16. Alright, I'll watch it. Gotta be honest though, I hate the idea of us playing 3 at the back so when he says he sets up "very Liverpool" and then talks about 3 at the back... I do roll my eyes around in my head.
  17. I put one eyehole from the glasses over the phone camera - no total eclipse for me though, just a partial one.
  18. I'll just wait until he's our manager rather than watch some footy nerd's speculation video
  19. I’m not saying it’s a red or it’s not a red, I’m just saying I’ve seen them given for less this season.
  20. Just wanna say, we've seen red cards given for less this season:
  21. He usually plays 3 at the back, which tbh fills me with dread for some reason. Who knows if he'll do that with our squad though. But I really don't know much else about him. It's all well and good if he's got good tactics and a good track record in the transfer market... but has he ever dealt with Paul Tierney or Anthony Taylor before?
  22. Not like it matters, he didn't get to it and I don't blame him for the loss. Bad moment from Quansah who had a pretty good game otherwise, but I fully blame the loss on Diaz, Salah, and Nunez. We had the chances to win.
