  1. Only highlights the mad decision not to sign a CB this summer even further. The amount of games Matip and Lovren miss between them means that this was always a likely scenario. Lovren would be ok as a back up based on his ability and injury record but another first choice needed signing.

I think he probably means when they're both at their peak, which is true but irrelevant now because Haye's peak is long gone

Haye's body will never hold up in a meaningful fight again. This fight will either never go ahead or he'll fall apart again after a few rounds. Lomachenko v Rigondeaux is a great fight. Got to think Loma is too big though. Wilder v Ortiz in November too isn't it? Interesting one that. Not sure what to think of Ortiz, looked poor in his last couple but will be Wilder's biggest test to date

Golovkin will have to win every round or knock him out to win the rematch, which means Canelo wins the rematch. Canelo will probably be a bit better second time around and Golovkin will be probably 36 by the time they step into the ring again

You're right he did land some big counters but when he did Golovkin just seemed to keep coming back with more. I was trying my hardest to make a case for Canelo in each round but only gave him four. It's one I'll definitely watch again and re-score to see if I think any different. It was a good fight but Canelo seemed to tire later on until the 12th in my opinion. A lot of holding between about round 7 and 11.

Disgusting that! How one judge had it 118-110 Canelo I'll never know. Sometimes I wonder why I bother watching it. I had 8-4 GGG by the way

It's fight week! Predictions? Golovkin late for me.
  8. Chopping and changing the defence doesn't help either. Three changes to the back five yesterday from the Arsenal game. Never going to get any better when you're making so many changes from one game to the next

Gonzalez stopped in the fourth last night. I fell asleep before it started but saw the knockout this morning. Think he'll drop back down to flyweight now. Saw Estrada v Cuadras, good fight. Buffer initially announced Cuadras as the winner which was wrong and should have been the other way
  10. The piece I read mentioned Ward too though. Would Klopp have refused him going out on loan if he had no intention of using him at some point?
  11. Paul Joyce reckons Klopp's going to rotate the keepers depending on competition. Mignolet in the league apparently, Karius in the CL. Presumably Ward in at least the League Cup?
  12. Malta on Tuesday. Finish work tomorrow for two weeks, can't fucking wait

Joe Joyce's pro debut is a 10 rounder against Ian Lewison. Good match up for his debut, looks like they're going to try and fast track which is no surprise at his age

Joshua should win in a few one sided rounds

Some good fights to look forward to this weekend. Usyk v Huck in the WBSS quarter final. Then Sunday morning (for us in the UK) Gonzalez v Rungvisai rematch. The first was a cracker. Inoue making his US debut, looking forward to seeing him in live action. Another Super-fly contest between the two Mexican's, Estrada and Cuadras, could be a cracker.
  16. Nothing to do with his ability on the pitch. His behaviour off it and unprofessional attitude
  17. And FSG's President is a massive influence on our transfer committee. He is their man over here...
  18. Some fair comments for the most part. I still hold doubts over our recruitment process. It is improved since Klopp certainly, the summer windows at least. There's a chance for the club to answer some of those doubts that I and others hold over the next couple of days. No new additions would see is left short again.
  19. I'm going to take that this is aimed at partly me. Firstly, I've never said FSG out or anything like it. I've been very critical of the way they've run the club at times yeah. Does the fact they've not had us on the brink of administration mean much of their ownership has been good enough? Of course it doesn't. If we compare every ownership to our previous one then we're setting very low standards
  20. Yeah he showed glimpses of what he was about, I don't dispute that but I think a lot of people were thinking if he's not signing a new contract, cash in on him because he's not shown enough to be making certain demands from us in terms of his new contract
  21. He was crap for large parts of last season mate. The last 6 months doesn't change that
  22. Mane obviously outstanding. Matip was good last season but was in and out of the side with injuries. Hopefully he can stay fit this year. Wijnaldum generally good but goes missing a fair bit. When he's on it though he's a good player for us. I don't think the rest from last season are worth talking about. Budget options for the squad and you can tell.
  23. I like Salah, he's a good player and improves us. The others I've not seen enough of to make a proper judgement. Robertson had a good debut but like I say, too early for me to judge.
