  1. Put that way, it's perhaps more fairer and perhaps the different kind of role didn't suit. There's evidence that he was and wasn't backed. Unfortunate that he was perhaps backed with the wrong players - is there evidence to suggest that the club were looking at some of the (bad) players before Walsh arrived anyway? I ask as there are some players that we scout for 1-2 years in some cases before completing the deal. So is Walsh to blame for all bad signings but potentially not given any credit for players that could have been stars? The change in manager may not have helped (going from Koeman to Allardyce is a massive change to be fair as well).
  2. Should/would the fault not go to anyone at the club who refused to go forward with what Walsh suggested? Also, would it count as hearsay and speculation if it comes from Walsh himself?
  3. So if Everton backed Walsh, you could have had a team of Robertson, Maguire, Haaland and Evans... Imagine hiring someone for their experience and knowledge and then not fully backing him in the transfer market...
  4. So not really anything to worry about then
  5. Watched a bit of it. Helped that it was in a stadium that generates decent atmosphere as games at Wembley dont' sound great whenever England have played there. More like a friendly atmosphere sometimes. Spurs were on top when I tuned in.
  6. I genuinely wouldn't mind being taxed a little more if it meant NHS services, police services and educational and transport services improved. I'd rather that than further cuts to those essential services. Look at the cuts to NHS and figures for waiting times in A&E at hospitals. Look at cuts to police forces and increased crime rates as a result. Then you have Tory promises trying to recover from such cuts and glittering it up as if they're doing a good thing putting more police and nurses and hospitals out there. But if you take what Hancock said the other day - he said 20,000 'more' officers in the streets. In actual fact that doesn't even cover the amount police numbers were reduced by. It's ironic you mention bias though because when it comes to politics isn't that what majority of us are? I despise Boris, Tories and the current government. You despite Corbyn, Labour and a potential of a Labour government in future. We're bound to be bias in this regard.
  7. Literally just spoke about this with my parents . Terribly bad. Look up squirming in the dictionary and that clip is next to it.
  8. Think if he played as an out-and-out striker with Auba, the goal tally will increase. Get the wingers in and better service to those 2 and you'll be much better.
  9. Amazing how when it's Labour who want to spend, it's a magic money tree or 'where will he get the money from?!' but when it's the Tories, it's all fine to give £1bn just like that to the DUP or spunk millions and millions on Brexit to get absolutely fucking nowhere.
  10. I definitely am not and do not live in such a style.
  11. Actually agree that it shouldn't be changed midway through a season. Staying as it is but will be interesting to see how their fan research goes...

    Cricket

You must be excited? Will you be going to either?
  13. Mainly misguided predictions To be honest, I do look out for Dusseldorf results because of your support. Likewise Werder Bremen for @nudge & @Devil-Dick Willie, or Schalke for @SchalkeUK etc etc. Dortmund would still be my preferred team. But I have taken a liking to Frankfurt - didn't really watch them play much before last season but their Europa League campaign opened my eyes up to how well they can play and how well they're supported. To be fair, support for German football, in stadiums, is ridiculously good. Even in 2. Bundesliga it's sell outs for grounds up to 60,000?! Can't knock that at all.
  14. Safe to say Arsenal have definitely gone backwards since hiring Emery? Not to say that keeping Wenger was the answer, but perhaps Emery wasn't either...
  15. It is understood that the scratch that was later apparent under Gomez’s right eye during Monday’s training session could have come from one of those trying to separate the two. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/11/12/england-teammates-raheem-sterling-joe-gomez-came-blows-steps/ I couldn't think of anything on this level but Neville, Lampard, Ferdinand have all said either before or after this latest incident that club rivalries can affect the England side when they meet up for international duty.
  16. That's one way of spinning it! Not seen any reports of a headlock. The scratch didn't come from Sterling. It's not like Sterling has stopped Gomez' international career either so that can be nipped in the bud Gomez has done well not to retaliate as many others I think would have, and wanted to assert their own authority. I know you Liverpool lads don't like Sterling but think you need to just put that to the side temporarily...
  17. Further to that, I think it's been concluded that the cut in question was actually from another player when they were trying to separate Sterling & Gomez. As TAD says, just a scratch. Still think it's being blown well out of proportion. MSM love when England do shite. They lap it up like there's no tomorrow. This minor incident plays right in to their hands.
  18. Chilwell did the same thing for Soyuncu on a tweet at the weekend (can't remember who he compared him to) and literally no-one picked him up on it. Not saying that he should have. More that Silva shouldn't have been punished either for it. I wonder if the FA asked Mendy about it? Surely as the person involved you ask for their opinion and if any offence has been taken?
  19. Probably media (if that's who you mean) trying to win back some pride after all the shite they've given him for several years? They've got a lot more to do than that though... If you mean anyone on here - I still think it's been blown out of proportion and it's not just 'poor Raheem'. Wouldn't say its entirely unprovoked, either, given the coming together from Sunday's game between the two. Can't remember about others but I like the way Gomez was quick to put a stop to it and shake hands with him. So no, it's not just poor Raheem... I mentioned in the England thread, we have absolutely no idea what was fully said between the two players in the immediate lead up to the altercation, do we? If the person that was actually involved on the end of Sterling's behaviour can draw a line under it so quickly, why can't everyone else? Why does there have to be such a big deal over something that lasted for such a very short time? It's been exaggerated purely because it was leaked - and I would love to know where or how it was leaked. Maybe someone working at the canteen, maybe even a player or staff member. Who knows?
