  6. Feel like it's too much of a gamble for Chelsea to go with Maresca. He has flaws, some of which were criminally exposed last season. Extremely stubborn in his tactics, and if Chelsea are looking for someone adaptable, then he's not the man. The one huge plus Chelsea have over us (and pretty much any team) is that he'll be given copious amounts of dough to spend however he likes. I don't know what the structure is at Chelsea and whether the manager even has a big enough say in it, but you can probably sensible assume he'll have a decent input into players they can buy. It's a bit of a wild gamble for Chelsea to make considering the calibre of managers they've had in the past, even if they do change them regularly. Even with his success with us last season, I'd have still not thought he makes such a big jump considering his inexperience as a manager. It's only been 1 year but I'll be fairly down if he does leave as I was looking forward to the project he had begun and being able to galvanise the team after a relegation. He managed to get players back in favour or get the best out of them after they slumped and had a hand in that relegation (Vestergaard, Ndidi for example. I don't think they'd improve on a 6th-place if he was hired and I wonder how he'll handle the pressure. It appeared to get to him in the slump we had, and that kind of slump gets exacerbated several times over in the Premier League. I'd have thought other managers would be available that are more fitting for the job? I still can't understand Chelsea sacking Pochettino, let alone who the new manager is that they'll opt for. I hope Maresca stays with us, but I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Chelsea so soon in his career. I just don't think it's the right time for club or person...
  7. Pole Position - Which driver will post the fastest lap in Q3 AFTER MAX VERSTAPPEN IS REMOVED FROM THE RESULTS? SAINZ Podium - Which drivers will finish the Grand Prix in the top three positions AFTER MAX VERSTAPPEN IS REMOVED FROM THE RESULTS? 1. LECLERC 2. SAINZ 3. NORRIS Random Driver - Predict the finishing position of this week's random driver, Daniel Ricciardo. 16th Bonus Question - Keeping it simple this weekend. How many times will the (full, not virtual) safety car appear during Sunday's Grand Prix? Twice
  8. Might be a difficult one, that, as Ben Yedder isn't in France's squad...
  9. https://x.com/PolitlcsUK/status/1793262877442236815?t=jinumqnDucAJWE2JxILR4g&s=19 Seems likely then. 'diaries being cleared' apparently too.
  10. Yep, latest they can leave it is January 2025. I'd be surprised if it was early July. Think the earliest it'd be is Aug/Sept, but knowing how Tories like to double/triple-down, they'll just kick the can down the road and perhaps wait til Nov/Dec.
  11. Ben Doak is a massive surprise, and I suspect he'll be culled in the final squad. Midfield is fairly strong.
  12. I'll do reminders and tag in each new thread for each round

  16. Why are you paying attention to that imbecile?
  17. Thought he was building something good there, especially given the form in the 2nd part of the season. But then again, you could tell something was a bit off with some of the comments he'd sometimes make in press conferences. Still quite surprising though.

  21. The PL title decision went down to the final day, and Man City sealed it expectedly at home to West Ham. In this league though, the title was pretty much sewn up for several weeks. Before we crown the winner, the top scores for Week 38 came from the closest challenger, @6666, and @Storts who was the only one to improve his position on the final day. Both scored 18 points, whilst the next best was @Rucksackfranzose with 17 points. Most positions were sewn up, and nearly all regular competitors scored 500+ points, an indication of the impact having 4 points for a perfect score had. On to the winner who has been top of the pile since Week 26 - @Rajabhat Rovers! Congratulations to our regular prediction-league competitor! That week was the first time he took the league and he made the spot his own. As per tradition, here are some seasonal summary stats: Other Leaders Throughout the Season: - @6666 (Week 1-3, 5-19, 23-25) - @Lucas (Week 4) - @Dan (Week 20-22) Highest Individual Scores in a Week - @6666 - Week 1 - 38 points - @Dan - Week 18 - 32 points - @Rajabhat Rovers - Week 28 - 25 points - @CaaC (John) - Week 35 - 24 points - @Storts - Week 37 - 24 points Most Perfect Scores in a Single Gameweek - @6666 - Week 1 - 5 - @Dan - Week 18 - 5 - @Lucas - Week 1 - 4 Finally, it's the Premier League Prediction League Hall of Fame.... 2015/16 - @Storts 2016/17 - @Rajabhat Rovers 2017/18 - @Lucas 2018/19 - @JoshBRFC 2019/20 - @Lucas 2020/21 - @Rajabhat Rovers 2021/22 - @Mark Mark 2022/23 - @Lucas 2023/24 - @Rajabhat Rovers Congratulations to @Rajabhat Rovers who is now the outright leader for most wins of the Premier League Prediction League!
