  1. I don't think we did in the end mate. I was stopping near the Lelylaan station, which is a while from the centre, but we got a tram to dam square then mooched around from there towards de wallen before everything got a little, let's say, messy. Nice hotel aswell for the price. It's a bit out of the way, but it was spot on. I might stay there when I go next time in feb, although fuck getting on a tram ever again. Horrible experience .
  2. There is an Argentine restaurant there. The steak smelt nice as fuck and I was planning on going back the next night, but was too rough and also forgot where it even was . December next year, or this month?
  3. Well I'm definitely not looking to go absolutely crazy and get fucked out of my head like on the last trip . It was eventful and one of the best weekends I've had, although I want to have a more chilled out trip there this time, which is why I decided to book it and go again. I went with a few lads last time, but if nobody is coming with me in Feb, I'm off on my own as there are things I want to experience there. I also think the tourism is what makes it an appealing place, as they aren't usually just ordinary tourtists, but crazy ones from literally everywhere in the world and you have a good laugh with many of them. Spoke to many in just a short trip, Americans, Greeks, Italians, Spanish, Algerians, Lebanese, Ghanians, Dutch(of course), tons of Irish, even a couple of Argies @Berserker. I won't be going in May though unfortunately, as I'll be going down South fishing for a week then, although I'll bare it in mind for the future possibly. It would be a nice country to be in in general in May with all the tulips.
  4. I've checked and it's actually a lot further than I thought it would be, so fuck that idea off . It would have been a good idea though had it been closer. A day in Rotterdam would probably make more sense, or maybe even Alkmaar? @Panna King, @Panflute
  5. Which is the closest decent German city to Amsterdam that could be gotten to on a train within, say, 2 hours? Düsseldorf perhaps? Dortmund? Are they worth the visit? @nudge, @Tommy I'm going back there(Amsterdam) in Feb(on my own this time if nobody is up for it, I'm going whatever happens.), but I might have to extend my stay and visit Germany for the day, simply for the fact I've never been.
  6. Well that was fucking eventful to say the least.

Not really mate, I just take pictures of rare or random things I come across, although I can appreciate great photography.

@nudge Your photography is amazing. As good as you'll get.
  9. I doubt I'll be going in there mate(too busy, maybe in the future), just getting a taxi from the hotel to there due to it being an easy destination to get to and a decent starting point, so to speak. Somewhere that is only 3.0 mile away from the hotel could take you on like a 6.5 mile journey to get there via taxi, so I thought that getting it to the Anne Frank would make the most sense as it's quick and easy to get to, while being close to where we want to be. Not to mention, from there, you can mooch about and check places out. Getting one of those travel cards to get about on trams and trains if needed would make sense itself. Hotel king's court it's called. It's nothing special, but is only for 2 days and is only for a place to get our heads down. We will barely be in there at all. A 7 min train journey from the Airport and then a 15 mil tram ride(or about 10 mins in an uber) to where everything is at. Googlemaps is one of the greatest inventions ever. How did we cope without it?

A quarter moon and Venus in the sky this morning. Amazing.
  11. Well I've worked out that the Anne Frank House is 2.5 mile from the hotel so I think it might be ideal just to get an uber to there and then mooch around from there. If you get taxis directly to other places(which aren't even far from the Anne Frank house), they can take you on long routes. But getting one of those transport cards would defo make sense. I'd get a bicycle myself if the weather was decent. It would be ideal if it was like today here. It was cold as fuck, but sunny, fresh and felt like a nice winter day. It would be spot on if it was like that, as they have some nice parks and stuff like that to visit there as well.
  12. The only problem is, I have checked the weather and it's set for heavy showers and strong gale forced winds all weekend . I'm not exactly going for the sun or beaches, although due to Amsterdam being one of those cities where it isn't wise to get taxis/drive a rented car, it means doing quite a lot of walking from 1 place to the next. But oh well, fuck it, it'll still be class. What's your reason for going there other than to hit the red lights to get your 20 minutes for 50 euros?
  13. Such a great fighter to watch. Fought in a very exciting era against top class opponents as well.
  14. To be fair I get up early anyway myself, about 5:30, so it's not really anything new. Staying up to watch it is the difficult one these days, unless you have an eighth of charlie or something.
  15. Since I'm doing fuck all this weekend with going Amsterdam next weekend, i might just set my clock and get up early if I have an earlier night tomorrow night.
  16. Edit: I didn't know that @The Artful Dodger had already posted it. Got to love Tyson Fury though and great to see him back. I wish him all the best this weekend.
  17. I'm only going for 2 days but that's enough in Amsterdam as you spend far too much there once you get going. This trip could be crippling financially
  18. When are you off there mate? Only 9 days now and I'll be there.
  19. Yeah mate, I still can't properly bend one of the fingers, but it's getting there on its own, doesn't bother me or hurt. it'll always be deformed but it will eventually function as normal I'd have thought. Interior demolition jobs are dangerous though, people always get hurt. It's a bit of fun smashing fuck out of shit but there are risks. It's not a job I usually do to be honest and was a temporary thing at the time before getting into a job(that I'm in now) that I had lined up.
  20. Flights are booked for Amsterdam on the 7th December, so 2 weeks on Friday. It should be a good trip, I'm looking forward to it. The only problem with there is that you spend shitloads .
  21. Flying mate, probably from Manchester, but maybe Liverpool.
  22. It looks like it's going to be Amsterdam on the 7th December for a long weekend. I got asked if I wanted to go on Saturday night and I don't need asking twice, I'm in. @Panna King Are you still living there pal?

Imagine if @True Blue was caught in the act doing something. The Spanish media would go nuts.
  24. I was on the river today on my dinner break and noticed a Duck(a weird species at that, it looked ornamental) go under water, it then came up with a fish in its mouth and as it did that, 2 massive herring gulls flew over to it, started attacking it and one of them stole its fish. I've never seen that before, so it was quite a sight to be honest. I always observe animal behaviour(especially birds since it's full of them everywhere you go) so I've seen alsorts, but never that. It was one of those moments where you wish you were filming, similar to when I saw a magpie pick up a chick as if it was a Hawk earlier this year! That's something else I haven't seen either in fact, a duck going under water and coming back up with a fish. I've seen Grebes do it and Cormorants, but never ducks. Herring gulls have got to be the most horrible bird out there for the record. They are absolute savages
