What concerns me is that most other Western countries are about 2-3 weeks behind Italy in this process. Without wanting to be a massive scaremonger, maybe it's time countries like us, Germany and France took more extreme measures early on instead of waiting for hundreds to die and thousands more to get infected before going to these extents. Just got to hope other countries are getting hit less hard than Italy rather than the same but 2 weeks later.

Some very worrying stories coming out of Italy about hospitals. Sounds like a lot of younger people who initially self isolated thinking they could sit this thing out like the flu are now flooding to hospitals with fevers and respiratory problems which are already full to the brim with "high risk" elderly patients. Also seems things are moving a lot more quickly in many European countries, relative to the population, than it ever did in China...

Utter insanity. Why are people so stupid? Authorities and governments across the world have been very clear that washing your hands is enough and it makes a bigger difference than hand sanitiser for this particular disease anyway.

Crystal Palace Discussion

Dreadful for all parties as now we'll probably not be able to get rid of him this summer either. -
I'm still watching. It's alright but I feel like the whisperers storyline is dragging a bit. Interested to see whether Negan is infiltrating them or actually loyal, and what Beta is actually capable of. Another showdown between him and Daryl seems inevitable.

Nothing in the Isle of Man yet but from the way people are talking it seems inevitable eventually.

Mason Holgate has signed a new five year contract today. Holgate's progress this season has quietly mirrored that of Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front. With the goalscorer naturally attracting the majority of the attention from outside the club, our fans have been equally delighted with Holgate who has gone from being perceived as barely passable cover for Keane and Mina at the start of the season, to our first choice centre back during the second half of the campaign, playing the full 90 minutes in 18 of the past 19 league games. Looking at the stats, Holgate could do better in the air, but the confidence of an extended run in the side and the trust of an experienced elite manager have brought the best out of him. He consistently looks composed in the challenge and on the ball these days and his passing stats, coupled with his lack of a single mistake this season that led to a goalscoring chance, are particularly impressive. Great news for us today.

I read last week that the cost of Brexit has almost overtaken the total cost of our membership of the EU since 1973. Also amusing that after one of the selling points of Brexit was some sort of anti-establishment "we hate red tape" sabre-rattling argument. Now it's emerged that we'll need to employ thousands of people costing £1.5bn for *checks notes*... the extra paperwork generated by Brexit. But yeah, iconic blue passports for the win!

Last Man Standing League - Rules and Table Updates
RandoEFC replied to RandoEFC's topic in Forum Games/Competitions
Table update for Round 6 (Eredivisie). Pyfish is the big mover from the bottom of the table, a lot of higher scorers in the bottom half sees the also-rans move into a closer pack. The top five all achieve the same score to retain a status quo in the title race. Last season's champion Viva La FCB falls to plum last after firing another blank. 1. @Lucas - 25 points 2. @nudge / @Eco - 22 points 3. @Tommy - 19 points 4. @Bluewolf - 18 points 5. @Michael / @RandoEFC - 13 points 6. @Teso dos Bichos / @Storts - 11 points 7. @DeadLinesman / @Stan / @Rucksackfranzose - 9 points 8. @Dan / @CaaC (John) / @Azeem - 8 points 9. @JOSHBRFC / @...Dan / @Mel81x / @Pyfish - 7 points 10. @SchalkeUK / @Batard - 6 points 11. @Viva la FCB - 3 points -
Is this pronounced like "Pube Licks"? That's the real priority here.

Why does this Labour leadership contest take so long? It doesn't get announced until 4th April ffs. It seems like Keir Starmer will win anyway. I would personally have preferred Lisa Nandy, I guess she still has a chance, just as long as it isn't Long-Bailey. Angela Rayner seems to have the Deputy Leadership in the bag as well. I think Starmer/Rayner is probably a good combination as Starmer will better appeal to the people who aren't left-wing extremists as party leader but the very influential Momentum/Corbynite wing of the party will still have one of their leading lights as deputy leader. What happened to the Lib Dem leadership by the way? Didn't Jo Swinson step down or did she end up staying on?
-
Incomprehensible how that's allowed. Should be goalkeepers only and loans only.

Anyone else following this story? This guy is usually well on top of things despite bizarrely being BuzzFeeds political journalist. He was the first I saw breaking the Sabisky story. I think it's been a real mistake allowing Dominic Cummings to become such a forefrontal figure (is that a phrase?). Then again I don't see how they could have avoided it with how closely he has worked with Johnson.
-
Who's going to change the thread title then?

Still the best season of modern F1.

Calvert-Lewin has stepped up but Richarlison is the key man. After Silva left, Calvert-Lewin has been told to stop running the channel so much and play as an out and out poacher which has worked a treat. Richarlison though still has almost as many goals but also contributes to assists and, while I haven't seen the stats this season, is always leading the way amongst attackers for things like ball recoveries and tackles in his own half. He always comes up with the important goals as well.

Okay...

Colin's going to have a real ball after the transition period ends.

Delph only has experience going for him. Tom Davies would be more deserving of the next England squad than Delph based on this season and he's miles away. -

No I think he's one of those myth players who is so average that nobody ever notices him and doesn't really know if he's any good. Other people seem to think he's good and he's not noticeably shit but you're not really paying attention because West Ham are a very nothing-y side this season so you're in no position to disagree with the hive-mind even though they don't realise that, like you, they only assume he's good because that's what everyone else seems to think and they haven't noticed either way. One of those players. -

Is Rice actually any good or do we just assume he's supposed to be good because there was publicity over which country he'd choose? I've never really been that impressed by him, long way to go. Dier would be a painful inclusion. For me it has to he Henderson, Winks and Grealish. I agree that the momentum has gone in Oxlade-Chamberlain's direction since the turn of the year. Maddison has cooled slightly, Grealish is inexperienced at international level and it's always hard to judge the stand out player in a struggling team. Mount started the season very well but I dont think he's ready to be in this conversation. You know Barkley ends up getting more minutes than any of them though, for some reason. Don't rule out Alli either. If he has a good end to the season he probably trumps the lot of them.
