Zverev has apologised. He got disqualified from the singles draw for his behaviour. Bear in mind, the lad stands accused of domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriend, a female tennis player. That investigation is ongoing and there are questions over how that is being handled by the ATP, who haven't actually commented upon it. This behaviour isn't evidence in any way regarding that investigation but people are now asking, if he can behave like that when he loses his temper, then what else might he be capable of? And he can only blame himself. If it's discovered that he is guilty of crossing the line with his ex-girlfriend and abusing her, then it's going to look pretty bad on the ATP, who have placed no restrictions on him competing on the tour while the investigation goes on. Innocent until proven guilty, yes, but the men's and women's tours overlap an awful lot of the time. I don't actually know if his accuser is still on tour herself but if she is, they're very much at risk of crossing paths with each other on a regular basis. Just have to hope there is nothing in those reports as it isn't a good luck for ATP to have done nothing about it.
  2. I appear to have fixed it now by going into Applications > Chrome and clearing my cache.
  3. I am also having an issue on mobile where any link on here I try to go to comes up with downloading a file. I can access fine on Mac though.

    Doesn't seem the type...
  5. In other news, Gray, Doucoure and Godfrey are approaching a return. No excuses when they come back to be honest.
  6. Mixed bag so far. There are good signs on what he's trying to introduce but a lot of signs of lingering problems that have been around for a long time. Going to take a long time to see whether he's the man to iron them out because the weak mentality, patchy defending and inconsistency of many of our players have haunted us for a long time.
  7. Or Western Russia, as he seems to claim.
  8. The rhetoric from Johnson and Biden and the front pages in the UK at least had a markedly different tone last night/this morning, suggesting that the invasion might not be as imminent and unavoidable as people have been suggesting. A cynic might suggest that with both Biden and Johnson under pressure domestically, Biden potentially losing control of the legislature at the US mid-terms and Johnson facing a police investigation and ongoing rumours of a leadership challenge and bracing for a difficult set of local election results this Spring, that perhaps both of them aren't ungrateful for an opportunity to make the Russia/Ukraine situation sound more perilous than it was before taking credit for a deescalation.
  9. Sound then no need to be quoting posts from 3 weeks ago to bring it back up then .
  10. Don't know why you're asking me then. Especially when any answer you get off anyone off here you'll just rebut with some more debunked pseudo-science from alt-right sources. It's so predictable. The virus is finally (touch wood) falling down the priority list in most people's lives and who are the last people left shouting about it? The ones who have spent the last two years being *so fed up* of Covid and telling us how we've overreacted by letting it dominate our lives. I'll tell you now mate. The people still banging on about fake Covid figures and the evil vaccine are grifters. They're clinging onto it now, because as soon as they can't keep people angry with it anymore, they'll have to move on to some new confected outrage or conspiracy to maintain their following and perceived relevance. Just do me a favour and don't go sending them any donations for their "campaigning" or go subscribing to any of their paid "here's the real news the mainstream media will never tell you" newsletters.
  11. Useful as ever from Ros Atkins on the situation, for anyone like me who has a flimsy understanding of the politics at play whilst also not knowing who to trust for better information. I trust this guy.
  12. I thought Crimea was still sort of disputed so there was an air of legitimacy to it, at least enough for the West to use that as an excuse to look the other way. I'm not sure about Georgia. I'm not sure why this time, the West finds Russia's behaviour more unpalatable so I probably can't answer your overriding question but I suppose the line has to be drawn somewhere.
  13. Thought we're probably in 'dedicated thread' territory with recent events.
  14. I like TAD as well but I was finding that he grated on me during his most recent spell where he'd never really bothered me in the past (although the insults directed at Stan were obviously unacceptable). Given that I'd tend to agree with him more often than not, he still seemed to be looking for excuses to pick a fight sometimes. A shame to see him go but had to be done.
  15. Cressida Dick has resigned/been sacked by Sadiq Khan. My favourite tweet of the year so far I think.
  16. Controversial take. I wouldn't rule it out, but I don't think it's nailed on either. Ferrari have a certain knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory . He definitely drove better than Vettel though regardless of the team/car difference.
  17. To be fair, Lewis drove conclusively better than Vettel in 2017 and 2018. Even if Vettel had matched him, though, Ferrari never had the goods compared to Mercedes in the development race. That's the story of the hybrid era though. The best driver on the grid in the best team on the grid in an era of F1 with very few cars breaking down and DRS making it pretty easy to recover from adversity if you have a fast car, one big recipe for the absolute dominance we end up seeing.
  18. Vettel literally bottled every single title fight he was a part of as long as you don't count the four that he won.
