  1. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/article/2024/aug/12/tommy-robinson-passport-may-be-invalid-say-irish-mps Mainly posted it, since it's that delightfully ironic,a Briton, who's always stirs up hatred against foreigners, and was a very active brexiteer, is indeed holder of an Irish passport.
  2. Willi Lemke, Werder's long serving general manager ( from 1981 -99) died aged 77. During his time at the helm Werder won 2 titles, 2 cups and 1 cup winner's cup. RIP

  5. Matches played from 23 to 25th of Aug: Karlsruhe - Elversberg Hannover - Hamburg Fürth - Paderborn Hertha BSC - Regensburg Münster - Lautern Köln - Braunschweig Darmstadt - Nürnberg Magdeburg - Schalke Ulm - Düsseldorf
  6. Although only one match ended with a result nobody predicted (Münster 0-0 Hannover), we're back to our usually poor standards in this prediction league after a good matchday last time. Matchday 2 1) nudge 8 points 2) CaaC(John) 6 points 2) Coma 6 points 2) nawoo 6 points 5) Rucksackfranzose 5 points 6) Michael 4 points 6) Tommy 4 points 8- Bluewolf 3 points 8- Stan 3 points 8- Viva la FCB 3 points Although Bluewolf finished that round on shared last spot, his lead has only been reduced by 1 point. Table after 2 matchdays 1) @Bluewolf 17 points 2) Rucksackfranzose 15 points 2) @Tommy 15 points 4) @nudge 14 points 5) @nawoo 13 points 6) @Coma 12 points 6) @Michael 12 points 8- @Viva la FCB 11 points 9) @CaaC (John) 10 points 10) @Stan 9 points
  7. Magdeburg leading 3-1 at Braunschweig 16 mid of 2nd half. Makes Schalke home 5-1 win against Braunschweig appear different than it did last week.
  8. I'd rather say, the number of low tier ref's might even decline, if we were to get rid of the age limit, since the chance to advance to being 3.Liga or DFL ref dwindles, if we lose that age limit induced continous refreshment.
  9. Of course they do begin at that level, before reaching the higher echolons. Nobody refuses them to go back to this level after reaching the age limit, though. If they don't that's more down to their vanity or greed than down to them being too old for the top 3 tiers, to be perfectly honest.
  10. Invalid point, since the ref crisis is one of lower tier and youth football, while that age limit only exists for top 3 tier football.
  11. Well, the ref situation isn't not quite that bad in countries, with a more football shaped sports history. Ref's having to ref an amateur and a youth game, playing for their club and refering a match in annother league, the same weekend isn't unseen, though. Don't know about other countries, yet Germany developed an issue of either players or spectators attacking refs violently in the last 10 to 15 years, Would be very welcome, if this rule would reduce these attacks, by not allowing dissent to escalate into fisticuffs, since players are priscinding from approaching the ref. Will be worth watching whether that's becoming reality or is remaining wishful thinking.
  12. Lautern 1-1 Fürth Regensburg 0-2 Ulm Düsseldorf 2-2 Karlsruhe Elversberg 1-2 Köln Nürnberg 1-1 Schalke Hamburg 3-1 Hertha BSC Paderborn 3-2 Darmstadt Braunschweig 0-2 Magdeburg Münster 1-3 Hannover
  13. Leeds 3-0 Portsmouth Oxford 1-4 Norwich Man Utd 0-3 Man City Rangers 3-1 Motherwell Dundee 2-1 Hearts Genk 1-2 Brugge Hibernian 1-5 Celtic Ajax 2-1 Heerenveen Sheff Weds 1-1 Plymouth Sampdoria 0-2 Como
  14. Just saw a word creation that made me laugh. Trump's campaign called Walz a"dangerously liberal extremist". Might be news to them yet political extremism is illiberal per definition in the sense of wanting to negate personal and political liberties.
  15. Honestly, that's an often heard arguement, I'm not convinced the Buli would be any better, if they sold their players to clubs abroad, yet. That supposed lack of competition is more of a myth than existing, in my honest opinion.
  16. That's true, at least we're now realisitic enough not to weaken ourselves by leaving one of the world's business blocks in the world making d´ourselves to EU Europeans laughing stock in the process, in the delusion of grandeur of being stronger alone. In other words Germans were feared, Britons are laughed at.
  17. It is, though. Football is indeed the exception rather than the rule in sports, with it's comparatively strict nationality policy. Colour me surprised, if Argentina didn't benefit from neutralized US players in one of their former successful basketball national teams. (EG the WC winners of 50). Therefore that losing their mind is a bit double-handed, although understandable from a neutral point of view.
  18. Interestingly enough can feel it's sad England neither are nore were strong enough to win an International title since 66, while we won 6 during this time span without mentioning it at every given opportunity.
  19. Ah yes, that concern almost every English Prem fan feels for Buli fans. When was the last time Man City didn't win the title again?
  20. Low enough to blubber about an injured dog, while humans have been injured as well, apparently.
  21. Didn't know Müller was making money by producing English "beef" products about ten years ago.
