  1. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/10/how-liverpools-sold-summer-players-are-faring-at-their-new-clubs/ Seems like the only two who have gone on to do anything good are Danny and Simon. I'd wager even Bobby is doing well at Fiorentina. The rest seem like good decisions to get rid. Not like any of these would ever make the first XI with the way we're playing now of course.
  2. I don't know why but this is just stupidly funny to me. And only because of the person involved.
  3. The rules make no sense. The powerups create unfair advantage and the IOC is now involved? Yeah, this is just weird and dumb at the same time.
  4. Our drummer is a huge fan of Mastodon and he sent me the link and then he said dont go home and watch it watch it now. Needless to say I went and found all kind of oddities on the internet about the band later. Still think its a good sound honestly.

    Work/Jobs Thread

I sometimes think that SAP is like some IBM products. They are everywhere when it comes to retail, commercial trading, etc we just don't know about it.

    Work/Jobs Thread

We use SAP as part of the integration structure for Logistics and a lot of other stuff that my client does. It's actually a really nice tool and the raves that it get are for good reason. The only problem is when you have to move it between platforms or the team needs to run updates then it turns into a nightmare for the first few hours before things start running smooth again. Nice to see that a decade after leaving IBM that Maximo is still slow haha. I was around when they started working the Tivoli division to get it integrated as part of workflows for the division I worked with and that was the sole complaint that everyone had. It was slow and terribly cumbersome compared to more modern products at the time.
  7. Finished Gears 5. Have to say I think its a good gung-ho shooter which stuck to its mechanical roots but I think the best part of this game is more on the multi-player side and not the campaign. If i had to pick between Control and Gears I would still recommend Control just because its fresher and the story-telling is a lot better.
  8. Same here. There will be another title around then too I highly doubt Nintendo are going to leave it as a month for the rest of the big names to put out big titles.
  9. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/10/doom-eternal-joins-this-years-game-delay-club-will-launch-march-2020/ Another delay. Coming out March 20th, 2020 now. Birthday month purchase I suppose.
  10. I tell you what when someone sent me this I was like she has a nice voice, good bass, great little riff and then she starts singing in a totally different tone and my eyes widened. @Dr. Gonzo you'll thoroughly enjoy this.
  11. There's always something magical when you watch Ben Howard perform live.
  12. They apparently try very hard not to thats what I read somewhere. I believe it as on the Athletic. The Prem has some weird rules around it as well which makes it even more odder than most other places. I mean its a screen and it should be used so I don't get who is benefiting from it not being used.
  13. fembot refs please. Also, I think FIFA should do the right thing here and force the VAR refs to not be from the same league as the refs on the pitch. It would cut out all the second guessing and the VAR refs would have no genuine interest based on the teams playing. Kind of like how you never let your fiscal audits happen with people from your own company.
  14. I think that's the biggest issue surrounding quantum computing right now. Well two big problems, the first being that it has no real-world applications that trump the user of a super-computer which suffices for what it does right now and isn't really something you'd even want quantum computing for. The second being the fact that qubits are highly unstable and to maintain something or create something for observation seems like its only practical use right now. The bigger problem with quantum computing as a science as well is the fact that its all just theoretical and while we'd like to think that most things around us warrant complexity of that nature they really don't just because of how we perceive them to bring some kind of stoical measurement into place. Long story short, your i3, i5, i7, AMD variant would beat the shit out of a quantum processor if you tried to use it for daily tasks which is why its where it is, in theoretical science space.
  15. I've been watching it on and off on Twitch and the way people get creative to complete the micro missions is hilarious. Couple that with dialog and it turns into a good comedy set.
  16. Has anyone tried this? https://goose.game/ Its called Untitled Goose Game and it has you as a Goose that basically goes around annoying human beings. Been getting some great reviews so far.
  17. Aiming is certainly easier just because you can set the DPI to your preference (pretty much like the controller sensitivity) but the freedom of the whole hand moving is definitely a plus. I think controllers trump a keyboard though just for pure layout when you want utility playing just because movement feels more natural to me that way rather than the WASD configuration on a keyboard especially for third-person shooters like Gears. Plus holding the shoulder button with thumb movement on the stick is so much easier as both hands are engaged versus just one on the keyboard when you have to literally stretch haha.
  18. You playing it on XBox? I was very tempted to crack it and get one but I am glad they have a PC option as I feel a bit more comfortable with a mouse and keyboard for this one. The only time I ever feel like I have to be a bit of an octopus is when I am trying to get Jack to do things while I am trying to also plot other stuff, even with keyboard mapping its a bit tedious but as I said before I am having fun with it and the fact that its so gung-ho is quite nice really.
  19. Im almost done with the campaign and I think its a real solid game. I like that they kept the core mechanics intact to the point where I haven't ever felt like I have to overthink a situation. I do wish it was a bit harder though. Some of the cinematic work in Act 2 is gorgeous.
  20. They do say that kids don't lie.
  21. https://arstechnica.com/science/2019/09/paper-leaks-showing-a-quantum-computer-doing-something-a-supercomputer-cant/ We dont really have a section for Quantum computing not like we really need it so I figure I'd put in this section. What's interesting here is how they went about claiming Quantum Supremacy and the fact that they used observation to achieve it. Now, in the comments section someone has posted that someone at Caltech said its a great feat and he was the one that coined the term but I suppose until its solving practical problems and doing all this theoretical testing it really won't amount to much in the end.
