  1. There are loads of companies that would kill for those numbers but I guess if you're that greedy you don't care if you trample on people just because you can always get a fresh batch to replace the ones going out. They will go the EA way and have in many ways already because they have online stores for in-game merch as well as platform subscriptions that will feed the engine for a long time to come. Who would have ever imagined this is what it would get to where you've got the oldest names in the business doing things that you'd imagine startup companies would do instead. This is why I always cringe when Nintendo North America does any promo work for new titles because they just don't get it and probably never will either.
  2. i knew they were working on GPT2 just didn't know they had gotten this far. I think its safe to say that it won't see the light of day soon considering what it can do in its current state. I quite liked that it was able to take text from the internet and start trolling people as well. It's bad enough we have users who shit on quality content but now we have a machine that is relentless too and who knows what people could come up with (as stated in the article). Imagine if it started pushing out ads to users with the smarts to know enough about demographics so that it never had to ever worry about a team telling it what it needed to push. Then it takes it one step further and starts creating text which incites enough hate about something that someone uses it to slander a competitor to a state where it could then fabricate more text to corroborate why its slandering the competitor. All this said I have to say I am very impressed. Playing DOTA was always going to be the first stepping stone to learning how to beat a human while pretending to be human. This is a whole level of awesomeness that I don't think the world is ready for.
  3. Its not a very country style album but its definitely a very well made album have to agree.
  4. Finished both the RE2-Remake sides and have to say its a pretty good game overall. If you spend time actually walking around and not running-and-gunning it then it turns into quite the experience. The eerie atmosphere gets taken away after about 4hrs of gameplay and then everything kind of feels and fits quite well. Definite recommendation if you liked the original RE2 or the even more awesome RE4. News is now going around that they want to redo RE3 and the Nemesis superboss. If they make it anything like Mister X in this new game I think fans wouldn't complain at all.
  5. I tend to think that EA likes to enforce 'engines' down on companies it works with. At the end of the day its a business and businesses generally care only about profits so its understandable they do what they do in terms of micro-transactions, etc. The problem with EA is that even if a company they work with has a good game but it doesn't fit their mode of operation they are quick to scratch things and desert those projects pretty quick. Having said all that there are a plethora of better options out and while I am disappointed that Titanfall won't be getting anything new sometime soon there is some good stuff to look forward to. The more people boycotting their practices the better gaming is going to get I suppose.
  6. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/02/ea-turns-in-bummer-fiscal-report-were-disappointed-in-our-underperformance/ Can't say that I am surprised really but they are turning a huge chunk of their profits from FIFA. I wonder whether they'll actually drop more this quarter considering they've not shown any promise with Anthem (could be wrong and release day turns out to be a success). I hope the good partners just decide this isn't worth it anymore and jump ship minus all the legalities associated with doing so.
  7. that was what I kind of felt with Anthem too. The other issue is that they couldn't balance the load on servers for the demo but can't really hold that against them as release day is different. Metro Exodus is the next thing to look forward to now.
  8. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/02/microsofts-xbox-live-is-coming-to-switch-ios-android/ Seems like Nintendo decided that their online platform might not be up to snuff so they went out and partnered with a company that has one of the best ones out there. The next few months will be interesting to see how deep the integration really goes and what kind of partnership this turns into.
  9. Immense. The boy was on form, built a superb partnership with VVD and is the best pairing we have with the Dutchman. Part of the reason we have such a good defense is his ability to play as the faster of the two CBs in the cover. It is bad news but when you think about the fact that we've been without our core defensive system for a bit now this is what has to be dealt with.
  10. im almost scared to ask how far you got haha.
  11. Put the machine off and go outside.
  12. Sent over a 20 via PayPal. hope it helps.
  13. https://techcrunch.com/2019/01/24/starcraft-ii-playing-ai-alphastar-takes-out-pros-undefeated/ This little trend of AIs playing and beating pro players is all well and good but I think they should just open a tournament where AIs battle AIs and stop mixing them with humans. Its clear that they'll always have the upper hand after a few days anyways since they learn so quickly. Having said all that its still funny how the AI only picked one race and has mastered it quite thoroughly.
  14. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/01/apple-is-rumored-to-be-working-on-a-games-subscription-service/ Interesting that they've decided to get into this pretty late considering that Steam is already on there and I am sure Valve has plans to port a lot of stuff over. Still, if they use the platform (OSX vs iOS) agnostic approach this might work to their benefit for all the mobile gamers out there who want a subscription service and don't have to pay for single games and instead get a subscription model.
  15. I am curious. What side are you aligned to? Light or Dark?

  17. I agree. One thing I like the most compared to its predecessor is how doors can just be pushed open versus having to wait for a loader and the aspect of zombies busting them open to get to you as well. You really can't run through too many doors and think you've escaped which makes it even more of a survival horror game. @Bluebird Hewitt how are you liking it so far?
  18. Quite like the RE2-remake. For some reason it seems eerier, the zombies are harder to kill and the element of trying to board things up so you don't waste precious ammunition is a good add as well. If you've played 4 and 7 I'd highly recommend this one because its nice and pacey. And then there's the random Tyrant run-ins that add to the horror aspect as well.
  19. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/01/netflix-is-linked-to-a-resident-evil-live-action-tv-series/ So, apparently Netflix is interested in making Resident Evil into a series and this on the eve of the release today of the Remake.
  20. Disney buying the Star Wars rights was probably the worst thing in terms of games for the industry since they then went with EA as the dev house and EA has a recent, and correct, history of screwing gamers over with their monetization-before-playability approach to game development. I'd have loved a KOTOR3 but that's never going to happen now unless BioWare and EA decide to do a joint venture which I don't think is ever going to happen.
  21. KOTOR2 is also a really good game and if I am not wrong the light-sabre system was vastly improved too. I think I played through it thrice before I had to stop haha. The skill-tree and the options for adding powers is quite good for fights and encounters as well in the sequel.
  22. This is the definitive original Xbox game even over Halo. The story arc and the ability to split into whatever you want to be (Jedi/Sith) is superb. I played this years ago and I still think its one of the best Star Wars games I have ever played.
