  1. Probably not invented for the pyramid workers as there's evidence of beer being fermented way earlier (potentially all the way back to the hunter-gatherer tribes), but the pyramid workers in Egypt indeed got daily rations of beer - plenty of it! And yes, I agree, it is one of the most important inventions of all time. It pretty much built civilisation. One of my favourite articles ever: https://nautil.us/issue/8/home/beer-domesticated-man
  2. Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary was a great read; one of the best sci-fi books I've read in recent years. Currently reading: &
  3. Then I'd highly recommend it. LOST was the series that has captivated me like nothing else before (and no other series did after - until Dark). @Tommy can vouch for it, too.
  4. I didn't say you can't criticise her though? My point was, if you criticise her for bad decisions, you have to be ready to give her credit for the good ones. Big difference.
  5. My point is, you can't cherry pick - she's equally as responsible for the successes of the franchise as she is responsible for its failures, especially when she okays or vetoes the projects and picks the people to create them.
  6. And yet if it wasn't for Kennedy, Favreau & Filoni wouldn't even have had a chance to create The Mandalorian. Yes, she deserves criticism for the direction the franchise took under her leadership, but people acting like she's someone who single-handedly "ruined" Star Wars as if she's some Palpatine kind of evil is truly tiresome.
  7. No haha, just a random thought after reading your summary!
  8. I often wonder how fucked up in the head someone has to be to come up with a movie plot like that...
  9. They are also sending baby squids... Just look how cute the are!
  10. Press conference with Markus Anfang: https://www.werder.de/#&gid=1&pid=1?jwsource=cl
  11. Grello wins! What a race though... Too bad we missed so many hours due to weather conditions, but so much action nevertheless. Battle for P3 between 4 cars on the last lap was thrilling. Kevin Estre is such an incredible driver.
  12. Yes, and the race restarts now... only 4 and half hours left...
  13. That's not too far from reality The "other guy" is actually the driver of the car, he got out of the burning car, ran to the barriers, got the extuingisher and put it to work before the marshall was there
  14. Race has been red-flagged due to weather conditions, earliest restart at 7am
  15. Let the mind games and off-track drama begin
  16. I love the elevation changes and the fact that there are diverse racing lines, which allows more wheel to wheel racing. What I don't like is the wide runoffs, though. If I had to name the worst track on the calendar, I'd personally choose either Paul Ricard, Barcelona, Melbourne, Sochi or Abu Dhabi...
  17. How come? I think COTA is a good track for racing...
  18. I think Indianapolis is the only other circuit in the US to have FIA Grade 1. Would love to see F1 racing there again...
  19. 24h Nürburgring this weekend... Friends have been camping there since Tuesday already, going through most of their alcohol way before the weekend starts Wish I could be there...
  20. 5 seconds into the trailer, my first thought: "oh this feels like Westworld". Well, no wonder - Lisa Joy, Thandiwe Newton, Angela Sarafyan Looking forward to it...
