Death toll in Myanmar protests passes 500... Security forces are beating, shooting and straightout torturing unarmed people in the streets indiscriminately, including children, abducting protesters and bystanders, breaking into hospitals and terrorising staff and patients, looting houses and setting them on fire. Three of the armed ethnic rebel groups in the country (the Ta'ang National Liberation Army, the Myanmar Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army and the Arakan Army) have threatened the military with retaliation, saying that if the military doesn't stop the bloodshed, they will protect the protesters and fight back. Military forces have also been launching airstrikes, things are especially bad in Karen State, with thousands Karen people escaping the bombing now displaced and having to live in caves, as Thai forces are also forcing refugees back to the conflict zone.
