  1. All kids and the coach are out and safe! Now waiting for the remaining 3 Thai NavySEALs and the doctor to come out, and it all will be over at last EDIT: Latest Update: Mission accomplished!!! Everyone including the last SEALs, volunteer divers, Aussie doc and the medics are out. This is truly an extraordinary effort by everyone involved, kudos to the heroic rescue team and all the helpers. Also, RIP Saman Gunan, a fallen hero who died delivering oxygen the cave and made this possible...
  2. Update: Rescue operation resumed at about 10am local time. If all goes well, the remaining 4 boys and the coach will be extracted today, as well as the doctor and 3 Thai Navy SEALs that stayed with them for the last few days. The doctors at the Chiang Rai hospital confirmed that all 8 rescued kids are in a good mental and physical condition, most were treated for low body temperatures and two have suspected mild lung infections, but their fever's gone and they are all eating solid food. Elon Musk's team delivered the "submarine" capsule, but due to the cave characteristics (esp. the 'choke' point) it's impractical and therefore won't be used.
  3. Yes, they are in quarantine for a few days, waiting for blood test results. One of the kids was in a pretty poor condition yesterday, but recovered well overnight, and they are all said to be in good condition now (well at least the first 4 rescued yesterday, no info on the other 4 yet).
  4. 8 kids out officially confirmed, the remaining 4 + the coach are expected to be rescued tomorrow!
  5. I've been feeling down for quite a while lately, and this seriously make me happy again - although whisky is a good idea too They've been able to proceed faster, there's hoping they might even be able to get the rest of them today that's too optimistic though I think, but at any case, the weakest ones are out already and weather conditions are still looking good!
  6. It's just that we are nomads and explorers by nature... Can't put it any better than Carl Sagan in 'The Pale Blue Dot':
  7. Glad you liked it I thought the pilot was a bit slow, but it picked up the pace quite nicely in the next episode!
  8. 5th boy is out! 6th said to be at the rescue base already, two more on their way!
  9. Latest update: rescue operation has resumed around 11am local time, good news expected in a few hours time. Yesterday's rain hasn't affected water levels in the cave, the same divers are doing the rescue today too as they already know the cave and the procedure well. The 4 boys rescued yesterday are under quarantine in Chiang Rai hospital for a few days as a precaution, but they are reportedly in good health and spirits, and already requested spicy basil pork today that's a good sign, can imagine it will taste absolutely amazing after two weeks out there
  10. RIP, a true hero A car carrying rescue volunteers fell off the cliff yesterday too; luckily no deaths, but one of the passengers is critically injured...
  11. Yes, 4 out officially confirmed by the governor and rescue chief in a press conference. The mission is stopped for at least 10 hours to refill depleted oxygen supplies. 90 divers working on it EDIT: 2 more kids are said to be safe in the base camp, but this is unconfirmed.
  12. Definitely driver of the day for me, great race from him today, except his poor start. Good race altogether, especially the Mercedes-Ferrari battle in the end. Gutted for Sauber though.
  13. Ericsson crashes out... After such a good last weekend, it's a blow now for Sauber... Safety car, lucky for Hamilton.
  14. Indeed, very poor start, losing his position to Vettel and then even more unlucky to get hit by Kimi, apparently he's got some damage too!
  15. 4th boy has now reached the cave entrance, 5th & 6th boys have reached the 3rd chamber (where the base camp is)! This is going better and faster than expected, hope the rest of them will be out soon, too!
  16. First two boys successfully rescued!!!
  17. I can't even imagine what their families are going through, it's a nightmare. First not knowing what has happened to them for over a week, then a huge relief as they are found safe and relatively healthy, and then a setback again as it becomes clear how complicated their situation and the rescue operation is... The only positive thing about this ordeal is the proof that people of different countries, cultures and backgrounds can come together and work towards a common goal when it truly matters, good to see that once in a while for a change. Hoping for some good news tonight; we're set for heavy rains starting Tuesday, fingers crossed this rescue mission works.
  18. Too risky to wait for them to finish constructing the escape pods and then fly to Thailand... Heavy monsoon rains are forecast and can strike any moment, the rescue team fears that the caves will be flooded again and with decreasing levels of oxygen, suffocation is a risk too. There are little official details of the rescue mission at the moment though as the media have all been moved away from the cave.
  19. The Thai cave rescue has officially started at 10am local time today... Best conditions for it, as the water levels dropped by another 30 centimeters, and some of the chambers are now passable without diving. Still, a monumental task for everyone involved. Each kid will be accompanied by two experienced divers, if everything goes well, first ones are expected to emerge at 9pm local time. Hope everyone makes it out alive and well...
  20. Both Saubers in Q2 Leclerc really is phenomenal
  21. I'm following it closely, they don't have much time left as monsoon rains are forecast for the weekend... Latest update from Thai sources says they possibly found chimneys 150-200m away from where the kids are stranded, that gives hope for oxygen supply at least...
