Stegosaurus is the coolest dinosaur!

That's above my pay grade, I'm afraid Taken by combinging infrared exposures, I don't have equipment for that But it's incredible, really. Square shapes are so rare in nature, especially at this scale. Looks almost artificial!

Stumbled upon this one accidentally today, and was curious... Probably the most entertaining non-fiction book I've read. Basically the history of technology, science, art, music, culture and civilization presented in a form of a humorous repair manual of a time machine. About a hundred pages in, and actually learned a new thing of two, while having a laugh at the same time. Really digging it.

There's a new series, The Lost Symbol, based on Dan Brown's novel. Two episodes out already. Just watched the first one, and it's surprisingly well done and entertaining! @Whiskey @Eco think you both like Dan Brown's stuff? Also @Bluewolf think you'd enjoy it too, a typical thriller-treasure hunt-mystery solving one!

@Carnivore Chris: "Fully vaccinated travellers returning to England will no longer have to take a PCR test two days before coming home. They will still have to take a PCR test two days after arrival. However, from later in October, they'll be able to take a cheaper and simpler lateral flow test instead." https://www.bbc.com/news/explainers-52544307

I think I first saw him in Into the West, which is one of my all-time favourite miniseries, and then noticed him in some smallish role in other TV shows. And I agree, his Westworld role was great. I also loved him in The Son as well...

In one episode only Zahn McClarnon is also in it. The majority of the cast, all directors and writers are also indigenous.
-
Yeah, I think you'll like it, too.

Started re-reading this, just in time to set the mood for the TV series premiere!

It looks fantastic... Added it to my list, will give it a go next time

That's actually not it The Triangulum galaxy is M33, the one I took there is M101, also known as the Pinwheel Galaxy. This one: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150614.html

Haha, thank you. I have a lot more unprocessed raw images on my hard drive, but it takes quite a lot of time to process it until I'm happy with the final result, so I will need to commit more time to it if I'm serious about it Took a bunch of Jupiter images recently, and it's my first planetary observation+photography, so I'm quite eager to see how it works out.

Thank you both Yeah, I've been in contact with them for almost a week now, and agreed to give it ago. We'll see how it goes. I think there's a growing demand for astrophotography images at the moment, so it would be pretty neat if it pays for a few beers every month, haha. @Viva la FCB here are some of my favourites (highly compressed as the original ones are 25MB+, so don't mind the quality)

Finished Season 1 of Reservation Dogs yesterday. Really enjoyed it, the setting is unique to TV/movies and I love the humour in it.

Received another offer to license my astro photos from 500px why is there suddenly a growing demand?

I started learning AI for two reasons - because it always interested and fascinated me, and because I want to be ready for the battle when it arrives

Are they from Rethymno, by any chance?

I see two biggest concerns, mainly - automation happening too fast and the labour market failing to adapt and make a smooth transition. I believe there was an extensive report by McKinsey a while ago, and it estimated that about 50% of paid activity done by humans can be automated by using current technology available now, and depending on the speed that automation is implemented, up to 800 million workers could be displaced by 2030, with further 400 million in need of changing occupational categories. And it doesn't affect only lowest-skilled workers, either. Those are massive numbers, and the effects of that, especially in developing countries, could be disastrous (although it will likely take longer for developing countries to adopt automation, too).
