You should pity my mother then she had nine of us.

True, when our grandson Kaiden was 4 years old and the wife was babysitting around our daughters she rang me up in a panic and said he had locked himself into the bathroom and would not come out, I calmed the wife down and told her to keep talking to him until I made it around. I jumped on the bus and headed off which took me about 20 minutes with a tool kit in my hands with screwdrivers, hammers etc, when I arrived it was one of the locks you could open from the outside by placing a screwdriver in the slit and just turning it, did that and Kaiden walked out of the bathroom with a cheeky grin on his face. That's why even nowadays at my age and we still have young ones (grandchildren) I don't get pissed as a newt like I did before children entered our world of parenthood.

You can celebrate after the big day buddy but if I remember right when the wife gave birth to our 2, after the birth(s), all the phone calls and knocks on the door with people congratulating us I was fucking knackered and just crashed out in bed until visiting time. I saved all the drinking time until after but even then it was only moderate drinking as we (me and the wife) went 50/50 in doing the parent bit, nightime would be my job making the baby bottle and changing the nappies that looked like stewed sausages in gravy and the wife would feed them and put them back in the cot. But it's times like that later on in years you look back at all that and it brings back nostalgic memories, nowadays our son & daughter are adults and have given us the 3 grandsons mentioned in here many a time and they have done the latter what me and the wife went through and even me and the wife have changed the nappies of the grandson's when they were babys, lol.

Astronomy Picture of the Day 2021 August 25 Solar System Ball Drop Video Credit & Copyright: James O'Donoghue (JAXA) & Rami Mandow (Space Australia); Text: James O'Donoghue Explanation: Does a ball drop faster on Earth, Jupiter, or Uranus? The featured animation shows a ball dropping from one kilometer high toward the surfaces of famous solar system bodies, assuming no air resistance. The force of gravity depends on the mass of the attracting object, with higher masses pulling down with greater forces. But gravitational force also depends on distance from the center of gravity, with shorter distances causing the ball to drop faster. Combining both mass and distance, it might be surprising to see that Uranus pulls the ball down slightly slower than Earth, despite containing over 14 times more mass. This happens because Uranus has a much lower density, which puts its cloud tops further away from its center of mass. Although the falling ball always speeds up, if you were on the ball you would not feel this acceleration because you would be in free-fall. Of the three planets mentioned, the video demonstrates a ball drops even faster on Jupiter than either Earth and Uranus. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

That's one thing I do though, I have not got a car and have never had one but I do like a walk daily if I can, it always seem's summer time I put on the weight and not in winter, I know I can lose the weight if I want to and the docs visit was just a wake up call which I was expecting anyway what she said. I will lose it (weight) no bother but at my age it wont be by running a one minute mile or doing 20 push up's in 30 seconds or going 10 rounds of boxing with Mike Tyson.

The wife gave me the evil eye when I told her, looks like porridge for breakfast and 1 bolled egg for tea until I lose some weight, sad days ahead, just ordered my beef curry & egg fried rice as my last supper, sad days ahead, again.

Had my check up with the doc, everything fine blood presure, breating etc, my weight ...... "You are overweight John, 98 kg (15 1l2 stone) I think it's time to lose some weight, you should weigh around 73 kg..." "ok doc...cough, cough..."

The first thing I noticed just now looking at a football sports page update, Jurgen Klopp without glasses and wondered why, I thought at first maybe he has gone for contact lenses, I was wrong. Surgery on his eyes

Classic, our grandson, Alexander, just walked into the lounge and said "Just going out to have a kick around with my football, Granddad" then walks out the front door, 2 minutes later walks back in the front door and I said "that was a quick kick around?" replies "I forgot the bloody football..."
