He is still going strong at 70 years old. Sven-Goran Eriksson: Ex-England manager named Philippines boss 5 hours ago | Football Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has been named as head coach of the Philippines national team. Eriksson has signed a six-month deal and will lead the team at their first Asian Cup in January and February, alongside Irishman Scott Cooper. It is the 70-year-old Swede's first job in management since being sacked by Chinese side Shenzhen in June 2017. Ex-England captain Terry Butcher quit as Philippines head coach in August before he had taken charge of a match. "With his reputation, experience and knowledge, there's no question he can help the team reach the next level," Philippines general manager Dan Palami said of Eriksson, who was in charge of England from 2001 to 2006. He held talks about becoming Cameroon manager in July, and was in charge of the Ivory Coast for three months in 2010, including at the World Cup in South Africa. "There were a lot of countries and clubs interested in Sven's services, but we were able to sell him the idea of leaving a legacy here in the Philippines." added Palami. Cooper, who worked with Eriksson at Leicester City, has been in charge of first-team affairs since Butcher's departure. Before the Asian Cup next year, the Azkals take part in the AFF Championship in November and December. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46001866

All this crap about Salah being a one season wonder, as my son just said (being a Liverpool/Hearts supporter) "Salah has just scored again pops, so much for this one season wonder bullshit", if my calculations are right that is 7 so far now and 1 assist in all games?

David de Gea: Man Utd keeper focus on 'winning, not contracts' 29 minutes ago | Man Utd Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says he is focused on "winning games, rather than contracts", despite being yet to agree a new deal. The 27-year-old's contract runs out next summer, with the club having an option to extend to 2020. United manager Jose Mourinho has said he is "not confident" the Spaniard will sign a new contract, but De Gea insists he is "very happy" at Old Trafford. "You have to be focused on what's important," he told Sky Sports. "What matters is the team and all of us being focused on what we need to focus on, which is winning games, rather than contracts or any topics that can be a distraction. What matters is focusing on football. "You don't have time to think about things that aren't as important as football and the points that are at stake in the games that we have to win and do well in." In August, United were positive over the chance of De Gea renewing his deal, but Juventus have reportedly targeted the Spain international as another low-cost high-quality addition after picking up Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, Barcelona full-back Dani Alves, Bayern Munich midfielder Sami Khedira and Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente on free transfers in recent years. "If the club want to be better than it is and not worse, obviously it would be very important to keep David," Mourinho said in an interview on Friday. De Gea, who joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 in an £18.9m deal, is one of several players nearing the end of their deals. "I've been at the club for eight seasons now. I'm very happy here," said the keeper, who has been the Premier League club's player of the year for the past four years. "I always feel that warmth from the fans and everyone who works at the club." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46002144 -

(Mail) Meanwhile, United boss Jose Mourinho wanted his players to join him in walking from the team hotel to Old Trafford after their bus was stuck in traffic for the Champions League game against Juventus, but security staff veteod the move. (Mail) Manchester United have had their hopes of signing Spanish left-back Jordi Alba in January boosted as Barcelona may wait until the end of the season to offer the 29-year-old a new contract. (Diario Sport - in Spanish) Manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed Manchester United will not re-sign Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 37, from Los Angeles Galaxy. Bloody hell, only really in China or Japan would you see this as a joke, god, someone with a weak heart, if that was me I would have shite a brick as I hate heights!!

Saying that when I was working I would walk into the lounge from work and find one of my shoes or slippers lying on the floor and I would say to myself "I bet there is a spider under that?", sure enough, lift the shoe/slipper and see a squashed spider.
-
I had to think quick then, seen the spider photo and the clips of Joachim Löw sticking his hand down his pants and thought that was a meaning or whatever lol. Back on topic, spiders don't bother me and I will pick them up in my hand, but the wife, no way, if I here her yelling "JOHN...QUICK!!" then I know she has to be rescued from a spider or another creepy crawly.

I am an animal lover and it sounds like you are also, I think you would like these 2 video's below by the great Sir David Attenborough.

I wonder if the driver still has a job? Luxury cars crushed as transporter hits low bridge in Perth 2 hours ago A car transporter has crashed into a low bridge in Perth, causing tens of thousands of pounds of damage to luxury cars it was carrying. The roofs of at least two new Range Rovers were crushed in the accident in Marshall Place at about 08:00. Police were called to the scene as debris on the road caused rush-hour traffic problems. Network Rail later tweeted to say the bridge had been inspected by engineers and was "passed fit for rail traffic". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-45964816

I think they will be feeling the heat now with all the publicity surrounding this as the guy that took the video of the incident said "He told BBC Breakfast: "I had to make a difficult decision at that time because if I had stepped in I don't think you would have seen the footage that I captured." The guy that did the racial abuse will have his mug shot everywhere soon, it's been shown on tv etc so far.
-
'Name and Shame' I would say but will the Spanish authorities act or just sweep it under the carpet? A man who was filmed racially abusing a woman on a Ryanair flight has been identified, police said. Essex Police said it had identified both parties involved in the incident and passed the details to the Spanish authorities who were leading the investigation. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-45951232 Edit: "Ryanair will take the matter further", I wonder what they mean by that ban the guy from any further flights with Ryanair?
-
Looks like Ryanair are washing their hands with it and sweeping it under the carpet, people should boycott Ryanair and choose other airlines for transport.
-
Seen that on the evening news, disgusting behaviour by the guy in question and Ryanair for not tossing the arse off the plane.

A good old weather thread, I love the cold especially snow and last year we got hit with the 'Beast from the East' and it was like this when you looked out of our flat window... But I loved it and the wife hated it, most of the shops run out of basic bits and pieces, no busses but our local garage just up the road managed to get some shopping in which I walked up in the beautiful white fluffy stuff, I loved it. This morning it started off sunny and 9c but has got a bit windy now but just nice weather for me, the wife is cold so she has the central heating on, yuk||

Wish United had this guy back as captain. -
I think I will move down near you lol. Must be the area(s) you live in I would imagine but this ex-serviceman's I joined is in the local town of Leith, Edinburgh, most British Legion Clubs around here in Edinburgh charge £3.20 a pint and I am a member of the Dalkeith British Legion and their pints might be a bit cheaper than £3.20 but not anywhere near £1.50, the Dalkeith Miners Club that we use now and then charge £2.70 a pint. Better than a packet of cancer sticks!!
