A weekend to forget for Mick?

For sure, both for him and Shwartzman. Prema had a disgraceful weekend overall. Horrible car/setup, awful strategy. Can see why they are a Ferrari junior team

Is there a salary cap in F2?

Curious as these cars are running about 15 seconds slower per lap than F1, so I wasn't sure if it was based on a salary cap, on restrictions, or something else?

F2 is a spec series, all cars are essentially the same in order to keep it affordable.

Galael spin brings out the yellow flag in sector 2 and fucks up everyone's final flying lap.

Mick P8, Shwartzman P11.

Shwartzman desperately needs to improve his quali...

Calum with the pole...he's been looking quick and could definitely be overtaking Robert for the top spot in the F2 standings.

Shwartzman was lucky not to lose his lead last weekend already. If Prema's race pace is the same as last weekend, both him and Mick will drop in standings for sure :(

A good win for Ilott, he has the championship lead now. Mick at P7 with Shwartzman at P8, Prema's alternative strategy didn't work out today again and soft tyres didn't really work for them :( ... A bit dodgy defending against Mazepin there, reminded me a bit of Michael :D  Either way, Prema front row tomorrow, hopefully some more points for the two of them in the sprint race.

Mazepin has improved so much...

Absolute twat.

No matter how badly someone else drives, you don't threaten to intentionally crash in to them because of it. Proper immaturity there.

The overtakes on him were also absolutely fine, he was just sulking because he made a mistake and went from P2 to P15 early in the race and couldn't recover...

Good to see the Ferrari juniors learning from the Ferrari seniors!

Nah, Mick made a mistake, but both should have handled it differently... Mick was entitled to dictate the racing line but turned into corner a tiny bit too early, clipping the right end of Shwartzman's front wing, Robert was entitled to defend his line but could have positioned himself better to avoid it. Both will learn from it, Mick to judge it better, Shwartzman not to trust the guy in the front to not make any mistakes. Mick owned up to his mistake and didn't celebrate on the podium, he knows he should have done better there...

A pity, Mick could have won it otherwise (although I think Tsunoda would still have taken the win as his tyres looked better), and now Robert misses out on quite a few points.

Prema looking much better in colder temperatures.

Crazy race... Good stuff by Shwartzman, should have the championship lead back now, especially with Lundgaard struggling and out of points today, and Ilott blowing his lead after the safety car. Unlucky for Mick again, pitted just before the safety car and lost a lot of positions :( A few good corners on the final lap, so some control damage there; with Mazepin penalised he should be P6.

Sean Gelael has been brought to hospital by ambulance straight from the racing track following the incident on the last lap :o  Very bizarre, there didn't appear to be any collision and his car looked fine, he simply parked the car and wasn't moving. Had to be extricated by the medical crew, it appears he fainted. Likely due to heat/dehydration; hopefully he's alright!
