nudge Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 1-2 for Prema, Shwartzman takes back the championship lead, as Ilott's troubles continue. Mick gets his 6th podium, 4th in the overall standings, 5 points behind Tsunoda. Hopefully Ticktum gets a penalty.
Eco Posted September 4, 2020 Author Posted September 4, 2020 Mick is into the barriers. Red Flag is out...wow
Eco Posted September 4, 2020 Author Posted September 4, 2020 They are calling Qualifying over? FML.... Shwartzman starts in 16th...I don't understand why he can't learn to Qualify well? Ilott, Tsunoda, and Ghiotto are P1, P2, and P3.
nudge Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 ffs, I missed the quali because I got distracted doing your fucking Bundesliga sympathy table
AMG Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 If Mick was in USA, he's be an absolute god at drag racing.
nudge Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Another fantastic start by Mick. Now needs a good clean race...
nudge Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Get the fuck in!!! Mick takes the win, finally!
nudge Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Championship standings: Shwartzman - 134 pts Ilott - 134 pts Schumacher - 131 pts Only 3 points separating the top 3, 10 different race winners so far this season, and the championship is wide open with a handfull of races still to come. Great season.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted September 5, 2020 Subscriber Posted September 5, 2020 Mick making moves. For those who aren't aware, Schwartzman, Ilott and Schumacher are all Ferrari academy drivers and are all making a decent case to get into F1 next year. Ferrari usually choose one of the drivers at Alfa Romeo, currently Giovinazzi. It seem like Kimi is likely to pack it in though, and Ferrari will want him replaced by one of their three young charges. Whether Alfa will he happy to keep Giovinazzi without him being Ferrari's man remains to be seen. It sounds like Hulkenberg and Perez are both potential alternatives for them. But I'm sure one of the three F2 drivers will be in an Alfa next season. Ferrari also have a technical partnership with Haas. There may be room for them to negotiate parachuting a second academy driver in there. You could argue the three of them are in a direct fight where the winner of the championship gets a guaranteed F1 seat and the guy in second might have a chance. I'd love to see Mick Schumacher on the grid but I hope if he tails off in the standings they don't just give it to him because of who he is at the expense of Ilott or Schwartzman. We've not said this much in 2020 but you have to hand it to Ferrari because they do seem to have snapped up the pick of the talent from this year's F2 grid well in advance and it gives them loads of options for the future for one of them to follow the path trodden by Leclerc to the top team.
nudge Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 In the end, all depends on how many seats are available. Whoever wins the title should get the Sauber seat, especially considering that the winner wouldn't be able to take part in F2 next season. If Ferrari have a chance to promote two drivers, I can see Mick getting an F1 seat even if he doesn't win the championship. Shwartzman being the rookie would likely be given one more season in F2 if he fails to win this year. It's very hard to rank the three of them, to be honest. Ilott is probably the fastest over one lap, but tends to make silly mistakes regularly. Shwartzman's biggest advantage is his intelligence and decision making, but his qualifying sucks and he comes across as somewhat too passive on the track. Mick is very consistent and his starts are great, but he lacks a bit in one-lap pace and can still be too cautious when racing other cars. All deserve a shot in F1, in my opinion. Will be interesting to see who deals with the pressure best, very exciting. Also Tsunoda doing very well, good chances for Alpha Tauri seat next season if he keeps it up.
Moderator Tommy Posted September 6, 2020 Moderator Posted September 6, 2020 P4 for Mick. Great weekend for him. Ticktium wins.
