Lucas
1992. The Dell. First season of the Premier League. Southampton 1-1 Leeds. Got my match programme signed by Tony Dorigo, Gary Speed, Gary McAlistair and Gordon Strachan. Great memories. Will never forget that first whiff of the burger vans walking to the ground, the clank as you walk through the old turnstiles and then the first time you go up the steps and see that lush green grass. Brilliant.

Brilliant. Nice one Im not having a pop at anyone but I don't understand those who don't remember every little detail about their first match? Mine was almost 60 years ago, I remember the score the players even the weather. Dunno if that makes me a bit sad or not?

Can never appreciate that with the AFL as it was too far to travel same with Shield games. I have done some away trips here but not many. The away matches were the best Cazza, I went years without missing one before I emigrated to Canada. Its so hard nowadays to get away tickets, allocations are so small. I can remember great times with the AFL (Aussie Rules) when I was out there, mind you that was when the teams were in Victoria and not interstate, all the grounds were in walking distance from where I lived or you could catch a tram or bus, Geelong (The Cats, Phil's team) was the farthest away, way up the coast around Corio Bay, I had to get a train there but I never missed a match watching the Blues play, home or away. I loved getting up on a Saturday morning early, donning my Carlton scarf and beanie and heading off to where we were playing that day, I liked getting there early and getting a seat near the boundary, watching the reserves play first, then at half-time or even during the match in scoffing my face with 2 Four and Twenty pies with red sauce or 2 Noon Pies...sigh, nostalgic memories to me when I was a young lad. The Artful Dodger
My first ever game was Chelsa 1 West Ham 2 in 1996, aged 7. My Dad was a Chelsea fan so by law they had to be my first game, can still remember the flash of green and the excitement. Gavin Peacock scored first but West Ham came back, Ruud Gullit was on the pitch. I remember a West Ham fan was in the Chelsea end and got thrown out. First Hull City game was Hull City 0 Barnet 0 ilater n the same year. Dwayne Derby scored a great volley which was ruled out for offside, didn't start going too reguarly until about 98/99 though. Subscriber JoshBRFC+ Posted January 25, 2021 Subscriber Share Posted January 25, 2021 I can’t remember it but I think one of the first was the Charity Shield in August 1994. We lost 2-0 against Man United. It sticks out because of the stories I was told off my Dad where I had a scarf tied to the wind mirror and it fell off on the motorway and I cried my eyes out for the next few hours . I actually cannot remember my first game to be honest, as I was going on from such a young age every week. There are just games and memories that stick out a couple of years after I was going on games.
