Cheers @...Dan! Didn't see that!

Your thoughts for the season?

I'm really looking forward to it, I think a lot of clubs will be very strong. Nice have brought in Galtier and signed several new players, Marseille will be exciting to watch (after years of dullness) with Sampaoli in charge and again, several new signings, PSG have added some massive players to their sqaud, Lyon have brought in Bosz to replace Rudi Garcia, Rennes have quietly made some good signings too (notably Loic Badé who was brilliant at Lens last season), Kovac's Monaco will be up there again, and good news for Bordeaux as they finally got rid of their awful owners, got bought by former Lille owner Gerard Lopez, and are making some good moves in the transfer market.

Yeah, can't wait.

Two points dropped for Monaco. Conceded the equaliser from a corner then did nothing in the 2nd half. Disappointing.

Jean Lucas was very impressive on his debut, Myron Boadu missed an open goal 8 minutes into his, and was pretty quiet after that before getting subbed early in the second half.

The second match of the season starts in 45 minutes. Lyon v Brest. Both teams have new coaches taking charge of their first competitive matches. Bosz v Der Zakarian.

A pretty young lineup for OL. Gusto and Lukeba were very impressive in pre-season, and it's good to see Cherki starting the season in the first 11, he's a potential world class player in the making.

Bizot is making his debut for Brest after his move from AZ, and for now, they've kept hold of their star player Romain Faivre, though I don't think he'll be there for much longer.

Two matches played and two 1-1s. Lyon not good enough at home. Looked better when Slimani and Paqueta came on, equalised, but couldn't find a winner.

Next up is newly promoted Troyes against a PSG who are missing a few big players, but Mbappé has been deemed fit to start

Finished 2-1 to PSG, but Troyes really impressed. They weren't at all negative, they tried to play football, they attacked PSG. Unfortunate to come away with no points, but positive signs for the season ahead.

There's still something a bit flimsy about this PSG side, even with 3 at the back to add a bit more protection, you can still get at them. I don't know what it is, a lack of structure, belief under pressure or just hubris.

Eventful game. Lille get a goal back shortly after the red card. Botman hits the bar with a header but Andre gets the rebound in.

3-2.

EDIT: Nope. Andre offside. 3-1.

Marseille level it up!

Under scored and it ramped the pressure right up. Won the free-kick for Payet to score from. Montpellier's wall should be blocking it.

I was just about to say that Payet is gonna have a big season, then he scored again. He looked very good in pre-season, he's surrounded by young attacking talent, Sampaoli has them playing good football (going forward au least), he's really gonna enjoy himself.
