Is it not denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity because Konate’s there?

VAR didn’t even consider that, just the seriousness of the challenge, which in fairness was poor

That's what I was thinking in regards to goal scoring opportunity.

However, and as I mentioned to @Stan earlier, if that's the other end, would Phillips stay on the pitch?

They did consider the denial of goalscoring opportunity, and deemed it not to be because of Konate.

The tackle was bad enough though.

Like I said, I dunno how that’s not a red. Very lucky he’s still on

I think its because the tackle is low and not  considered out of controll. However surely the player is clean theough on goal so not sure how it's not a red for that

I doubt it. Referee would crumble under the crowd pressure (I'm generally not a fan of this ref anyway).

Oh my broadcast seemed to indicate they didn’t consider it - but that’s probably the commentators they use here being generally shite xD

I agree that tackle was bad enough, I’m surprised he’s stayed on. But I think at this point any of us dealing with VAR has been fucked over by it enough that I’m not going to complain when the VAR official does something I don’t agree with that benefits us.

Jota with a brilliant header. 1-0.

He scores a lot of headers considering he's a small guy.

He’s probably our best attacking header of the ball, weirdly

I don’t think this is really a vintage Anfield atmosphere tbf I don’t think there’d be more pressure than at anywhere else. Think it’s more of a case of a bad ref and someone blind on VAR (so any given weekend in the UK)

Vaulks a bit lucky there. Could have seen a second yellow there.

Ladies and gents. THAT is why we're near the relegation zone.

2-0 Liverpool

Tbf you’ve looked better than loads of premier league clubs that come to Anfield look
