Ahh Sainz was in the game there but pushed too hard in the last corner and almost spun it. Alonso pips him to get P2!

Russell gambled on the slicks but spun off in the second corner.

That was a fun qualifying. I fear it will be a straightforward race for Max in the dry though. He's slotting comfortably into that Hamilton role now of just delivering without drama every weekend whilst also having the best car.

At least we have plenty to get excited about through the field with Alonso fighting at the front and Leclerc and Perez recovery drives.

Big credit to Albon, Schumacher and Zhou in that qualifying session who really delivered amidst the chaos.

Fernando! :o

Very happy for Mick. P6 is the strongest starting position of his career! Gutted for Seb though after he looked so strong in FP3. :(

Zhou beats Bottas again!

And I knew that Russell's gamble wouldn't pay off. There was still too many wet patches on that track.

Hoping Alonso can convert that P2 in quali with a podium tomorrow.

Love that to happen. But in the dry a few cars are going to take him during the race.

Slow stop Ferrari leaves Leclerc behind the four-car Stroll train when he would have been ahead.

Verstappen leaves the pits behind Hamilton. Opportunity for Sainz now who has been closing up gradually.
