Moderator Tommy Posted July 19, 2023 Moderator Posted July 19, 2023 Joined Hertha for a club record fee of 25 Mio Euros, and now joins Union for 3 Mio Euros. Great piece of business by Union. Not that great for Hertha though.
Rucksackfranzose Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Well Hertha are in a dilemma. On one hand they need their players to be promoted coming season, on the other they're that much in financial calamities they simply can't refuse to sell if that means to get their top owners off the pay roll. Surprised not more clubs took advantage of that predicament they're in, if being honest. Although Hertha didn't had a season that calls for their players picked up by Buli clubs because of their performances, though.
Redcanuck Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Hertha to Union , Is that like moving from City to United or Everton to Liverpool?

I think Union are a much smaller club than any of those. A few years ago, nobody expected them to be in the Bundesliga, and now they're playing Champions League.

Nope, Hertha BSC are a West Berlin club, while Union are from East Berlin- therefore they didn't see each other as foes traditionally. Indeed Hertha and Union had even a fan friendship until recently.

Not that great for Hertha though. This is a great piece of business by Union Berlin once again. Tousart travels across town to play for Union, a club that was excellent last season. Union have made a number of shrewd signings in recent years and buying Tousart for only 3 million euros must rank as yet another superb deal by them. Clubs like Serie A champions Napoli were after Tousart and for Union to get their man ahead of them is a great achievement. Union Berlin are clearly very well managed and I think that Tousart should thrive in their midfield this upcoming season.
