Bluebird Hewitt
Going to be a very tough game. Will be happy to take a draw here. As mentioned previously, we're scoring a fair amount, but struggling to keep the ball out of our net. Can't keep doing that every game.
Lucas
Watford home. so far, we've had three home games, three draws. We simply got to start converting these draws to wins and lean on Elland Road becoming a fortress. Our biggest problem being when teams decide to camp and get men behind the ball, we look like we struggle to break them down. If teams come at us, like Ipswich and Millwall, it's happy days. Cardiff and West Brom both got themselves a goal infront against the run of play and had something to hold on to. We need to get that first goal and avoid that scenario. If we can do that, I think we'd have too much for them but again, like Hull in the week, it's no good if we don't finish these chances.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted September 22, 2023 Subscriber Share Posted September 22, 2023 I know he hasn't really caught the eye outside of Leicester but Pearson will get a great reception tomorrow, and while I don't want the entire game to be about that, this is a bit different. He's not managed away here since 2010. It'll feel weird actually competing against him - our paths haven't crossed many times at all. Partly because of the heights we've hit, but those heights he played a huge part in laying the foundations. I think he's quite popular at Bristol City for these reasons as well. His progress is slow, but it's real. Again - you would have to fancy us as favourites but there'll be games we drop points, and there'd be something very typical football about it being to Pearson at home. No mercy though - win needed. Bluebird Hewitt
Big one between Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday. If Swansea don't win, Duff is in serious trouble I think. No wins so far and up against a Wednesday side still looking for a win as well.
Administrator Stan Posted September 23, 2023 Author Administrator Share Posted September 23, 2023 Rewarding victory today, although we made hard work of actually scoring. Missed several chances which mainly came through our two wingers Mavididi and Fatawu. The latter is electric quick and won't be long before he's getting assists and goals to his name. He's very powerful. We really nullified Bristol City today, they only had a chance or two when we became sloppy and complacent towards the end. Ideally we should have won by about 3 or 4 but a win and a clean sheet at home you can't really complain. 3 more points and welcome drop of points by Preston at Rotherham. Equally rewarding to give Pearson, King & James a very warm reception after the game. Great to see and hear.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted September 23, 2023 Subscriber Share Posted September 23, 2023 I think 1-0 massively flattered Bristol City. We were quite comfortably better again. 9 wins in 10 in all competitions. You can't knock it given the level of overhaul. Maresca doing a really good job. Lucas
Have to say, happy with that. Took us a long time to get that first goal but when we did, more followed and it didn't flatter us in the slightest, it was nigh on total domination. We have wasted so much money the last three years on so much shite but I have to say, as early days as it is, Ampadu for £7m just looks the absolute business. He is the base to everything with us and I'm really starting to think now he's got a settled home, we might really see a top player emerging. He is the first name on the team sheet every week for me and everyone else fits in around him. Good to see Rutter gaining confidence, he's young, he can be frustrating finishing wise but his build up play and linking the attack looks where he's really flourishing. Losing Sinisterra was a massive blow on deadline day but Anthony looks a very tidy player at the mo to bring on later in the game so good business there. It's nice to feel the bond between the fans and the team steadily growing. You feel like after all the rats that left a sinking ship and didn't give a fuck, you can really rally behind the one's that want to be here. And as for Farke, he doesn't seem to be doing too much wrong at the mo...
Bluebird Hewitt
McGuiness scores from a corner. This could very well be one of the most undeserved wins in the Championship this season if it stays like this. 1-0 to us.

Lucas
Just seen Sheff Wed have Sunderland at home next followed by West Brom away. Then it's Huddersfield at home before the International break. Darren Moore to hammer the final nail in the coffin?

Lucas
In fairness to Coventry, any side that loses two players of the quality of Gyokores and Hamer will stutter a bit. They were genuine match winners. The new players need a bit more time to gel I think.
