Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 11 Subscriber Posted April 11 We started early this season! Alonso has just signed a multi year extension with Aston Martin so that's one fewer moving part. AMuS were saying that Verstappen and Mercedes have been talking but it doesn't sound likely due to Mercedes' poor performance. Ferrari and Aston Martin are both trying to prise Adrian Newey from Red Bull and his departure could make Verstappen's departure more likely. Audi are waiting for a decision by Sainz on their offer. Perez is an alternative for them if he becomes available. Gasly and Ocon are both open to leaving Alpine so they could be in play as well! Quote

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 7 Author Subscriber Posted June 7 Apparently Marko has said that Tsunoda will stay at RB next year alongside Ricciardo or Lawson. I thought he might go to Alpine. Looking like this currently: Red Bull = Verstappen and Perez Ferrari = Leclerc and Hamilton Mclaren = Norris and Piastri Mercedes = Russell and Antonelli(?) Aston Martin = Stroll and Alonso Williams = Albon and Sainz(?) Alpine = Gasly and ??? Haas = Ocon(?) and Bearman(?) RB = Tsunoda and Lawson(?) Sauber = Hulkenberg and ??? Quote

Panflute Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Suddenly hearing some rumors of Sainz going to Alpine, since Alpine are in their turn rumored to be using Mercedes motors from 2026 onwards. Quote

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 25 Author Subscriber Posted July 25 Feels pretty insane that Mercedes could go for a rookie driver and Red Bull could be choosing between proven mid drivers Ricciardo and Tsunoda to partner Max, leaving a very capable race winning driver like Sainz choosing between Alpine, Williams and Sauber. I think the last potential wildcard is if Toto manages to talk Max into ripping up his Red Bull contract and making the change to Mercedes. If that happens then surely Red Bull have to snap up Sainz as their lead driver and partner him with Yuki/Daniel. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted July 29 Author Subscriber Posted July 29 He'll surely be disappointed with that when Mercedes still don't have a driver and Red Bull will have either Perez, Ricciardo or Tsunoda in one of their seats. Quote

Unknowns remaining: Will Perez keep his seat? Will Mercedes opt for Antonelli or someone else? Who will drive for RB? Who will partner Hulkenberg at Sauber? I'm thinking Perez will stay initially, Mercedes will go for Antonelli, Tsunoda and Lawson at RB and possibly Bottas will be retained by Sauber alongside Hulk. Quote

Currently going into next season with all of these provisional guesses coming true. Jack Doohan is going to be Gasly's team-mate at Alpine. Sauber have announced today that both Bottas and Zhou are leaving the team. Bortoleto is due to be announced as Hulkenberg's team-mate. We could still see some Red Bull shenanigans though. The latest rumours have linked Colapinto to the Red Bull family. Presumably this would mean either Tsunoda or Lawson replacing Perez and Colapinto driving for the junior team. Quote
Panflute Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Colapinto's performance in Brazil probably put a dent in his RB prospects. Quote
